Trivia / Lord of War

  • Bowdlerise: A ridiculous example. General Dmitri was played by a Russian actor, and his voice was dubbed in Russian release (by a different actor, no less) because it contained a few swear words.
  • Fake Nationality: Most of the actors, obviously. Nicholas Cage and Jared Leto are clearly not Ukrainian, although they do make an effort at getting the accent right when speaking the language.
  • Real-Life Relative: The Ukrainian mechanic who is able to quickly disarm a Mi-24 attack helicopter is played by Nicholas Cage's son, Weston. Thus making Yuri's "Get off there, son, before you hurt yourself!" a bit of a meta-reference.
