  • April Fools' Day:
    • Specifically, April Fools' Day 2022 will always remain bound to this game for those who have been following its prerelease. On March 31th, a leak was accidentally discovered pertaining to the site by adding 'reservation' to it as seen here, which was patched within moments. It was unclear whether this was a prank involving fake information or not, but the official Twitter then announced that there "is no April Fools". Later on, the leaks were confirmed to be real as the preregistration went up for real on April 1st with 'tripbooking' added to it.
    • An actual April Fools event happened in 2023. People who logged in during that time were greeted with a sudden unexpected cutscene of Dante having a malfunction and hallucinating themself in the position of the self-insert protagonist of various Gacha games in an affectionate parody that recreates that game's opening cutscene - such as Blue Archive, Arknights and Uma Musume...except with the poster girl being replaced by a very out of character Vergilius. The Blue Archive one has him give an almost uncanny smile, the Arknights one has him with rabbit ears like Amiya, and the Uma Musume one turns him as an actual horse. Other various references and jabs at gacha games are made like their tendency to give titles to protagonists, referencing several other gachas before everything turns back to normal. Upon realizing that Vergilius is back to his usual icy self, Dante calms down and thinks that they much prefer him like this. As the game (and by extension its developers) seem to be very much aware of common gacha game tropes judging by certain elements of the game, it is very likely another parody in that list.
  • Ascended Meme: People often memed about Yi Sang's resemblance to Rain from the previous game, with both of them having short black hair and a similar fashion style. Come fall 2023, and the login bonus campaign featured an Identity of Yi Sang as Ruina-era Rain.
  • Author's Saving Throw: People voiced heavy complaints about the various launch bugs and Mirror Dungeon rewards being too stingy, as well as not having any way to farm for all-important Threads that wasn't converting character shards. Project Moon publicly apologized for the errors and promised to make Mirror Dungeons more rewarding as well as adding additional modes to grind for EXP tickets and Threads.
    • The number of otherwise minor Saving Throws that Project Moon has made just in the first month of release is notable. To test the in-game mail system, used to distribute things such as Lunacy for maintenance downtime, they gave everyone 1 Lunacy. They then sent another 199 since they felt bad about only sending a single one. An emergency maintenance shortly before the end of March unlocked the hard cap of battle pass progression because three people had hit level 255 and gotten stuck there. When it was realized that the Chapter 3 final boss was too frustrating because it countered a mechanic that a massive chunk of the available roster used (Bleed, and by extension Nails), they promised to nerf them while tying it into a dungeon-specific item.
  • Demand Overload: Over 100,000 people tried to log in the game during the very first day of release, causing server issues.
  • Development Gag: The Abnormalities turning into eggs when defeated is an unused concept from all the way back to legacy Lobotomy Corporation.
  • Dummied Out: An image within Kurokumo Rodion's files has Yi Sang standing in the background as a fellow Kurokumo member. The official image that's used in-game has Hong Lu replacing him, as Yi Sang would become a Blade Lineage Salsu instead (the Kurokumo and the Blade Lineage Identities share the same universe, as they are in a rivalry).
  • Fandom Nod: The opinion that Vergilius is overhyped and doesn't match the capabilities of previous Colors like the Black Silence and Red Mist is brought up in-story at the beginning of Canto VI, with the Sinners stating their skepticism in place of the playerbase.
  • Meaningful Release Date:
    • February 27th is Angela's 'birth'day.
    • Rodion and Ryoshu's Liu Association IDs were released on March 7th, Xiao's birthday.
  • Newbie Boom: Due to in part being a free-to-play gacha game with a mobile port, and part through word of mouth, the game caused a considerable surge of players who had no prior experience with the Project Moon games.
  • Real Life Writes the Plot: The below delay happened after the Canto 3 storyline was written, taking place at Christmas when it would be Christmas in real life. Due to the delay, this was no longer true, which is reflected upon in the story now with the characters commenting on the extremely strange celebration of Christmas while it is nowhere near that holiday.
  • Release Date Change: The game was initially stated to be released in winter 2022, later specified to be December 23 of that year for symbolic reasons. However, in the same announcement, it was confirmed to be delayed at least to late February 2023 since several aspects of the game took longer to implement properly (i.e the PC port, to avoid a Porting Disaster). Whereas this understandably disappointed many fans, especially because they announced to at least massively slow down content teasers that had been semi-constant up until then, they were relieved at the same time because Christmas is a bad release time marketing and support-wise. Further softening the blow was the disastrous release of Goddess of Victory: NIKKE two weeks before the announcement, which was bug-ridden note , leading to many fans pointing out that if it were to be released at the scheduled date, its release would go not unlike that of NIKKE - and speculation that a hidden reason for Limbus' delay was the buggy release that NIKKE had.
  • Throw It In!: According to Don Quixote's voice actress, her using English loan words wasn't originally intended.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The very first image of Ryoshu did wear a vest instead of having it over the shoulders.
    • The game originally was planned to have all 12 Sinners in battle at once, though that was likely scrapped due to how insanely demanding this would be both graphically and gameplay-wise. However, with the raising of the Sinner cap to 7 for certain levels as of Canto IV, the possibility of a 12-Sinner Battleship Raid in the future seems decently likely.
    • The very first product had a huge amount of motion blur, which was removed just after the first video was released. See the difference here.
    • The Greed sin existed back in the very first Abnormality battle video. It did have the Gloom color and symbol, however.
    • The sound when rolling heads and tails was changed once.
    • All Passives were to be activated by how many resources were in stock, and could deactivate when those were used. This was initially changed to resources that were chained instead, only to come back for about half of the Passives.
    • There's cut dialogue revealing the installment of recordings of Yuri's voice to the GPS, pressing Gregor's Trauma Button in the process. Given Project Moon's penchant for Gameplay and Story Integration, this was likely intended to explain how there can be announcer voices of dead characters like Yuri and Effie.
  • Working Title: When the game was first teased, it was referred to as "LC-B", as in "Lobotomy Corporation-Branch". To prevent confusion with Lobotomy Corporation, which is also abbreviated as 'LC', it is not uncommon to see it referred to as 'LCB' among fans.
    • Became somewhat Ascended Fanon with the addition of Dante's Notes, with the abbreviation extending to "Limbus Company Bus"
