The Film

  • Colbert Bump: After this video talked about the original Japanese version and broke down the scene where one of the ghosts creeps up on a man in a darkened hallway, the movie gained newfound interest.
  • Creator Backlash: The American remake is this for Kristen Bell, at least if one scene in Forgetting Sarah Marshall is anything to go by. In it, Russell Brand and Jason Segel's characters take turns mocking a film that the titular Sarah Marshall (Bell's character) starred in that revolves around people being killed by their cell phones, all while Sarah ineffectually tries to defend it before admitting that she merely thought it was a good idea at the time. Apparently, this was unintentional on the part of the film's writers, who hadn't actually seen the American remake of Pulse; Bell herself pointed it out to them when she thought it to be a joke at her expense. That said, she was grateful for the break, and doesn't think that it was the worst movie ever made.
