The credits of episode 7 place the Little Sisters Team and Takafumi before their older siblings, despite the episode having a greater focus on the Older Siblings Team.
Despite Angel being labeled as the main heroine of Angel Beats! and Yurippe being labeled as the secondary heroine, Yurippe is always credited above Angel.
Asami Sanada replaces the late Tomoko Kawakami as Misuzu Kamio and Sayuri Kurata. Kawakami's last Key role, the Girl from the Illusionary World has not confirmed to have been recasted yet.
Houko Kuwashima voices After Tomoyo here, despite her being replaced by Ryouko Tanaka in said spin-off. This is even more notable since the CLANNAD and After characters are treated as alternate selves.
Youhei Tadano replaces the late Takeshi Aono as Toshio Koumura-sensei.
Role Reprise: Almost every seiyuu returned to their roles, with the exceptions being those who have died. While it is said that Kano Kirishima's seiyuu Asami Okamoto, who hasn't been voice acting for over a decade, has been replaced by Sara Takeda, it is possible that she's going by a pseudonym, since Takeda doesn't have any roles other than Kano, and both of their performances sound very close to each other.
Credits Trivia
The credits sort the cast by their home series, starting with the oldest one at the top and followed by the younger series in descending order. The characters of each group is then sorted by the importance of the roles they had in their home series (the progagonist > the main heroine > (the boys of Little Busters!) > the other heroines > supporting cast > minor characters). Starting with the second episode of season 2 which introduces the second ED, the cast are credited in two halves; the first half contains the cast of the three oldest series, the second half contains the cast of the younger series, although the cast of Angel Beats! are credited last despite preceeding Rewrite by one year. In the second ED, each half divides the three series in three columns, but if the ED doesn't play, each half will divided them in three paragraphs instead. Throughout the course of the series, there are some notable credits though that differ from the others:
Episode 1 doesn't play the ED. The credits are shown while the episode is still running and in a much shorter timeframe, resulting that a lot more credits are displayed in one frame than usual. Due to this, the entire cast of the episode was fit into the screen despite the big size of the cast.
Episodes 5, 11, 12, 18 and 19 are the only times where mob characters have speaking roles and therefore are credited.
Episode 7 doesn't list the characters by their home series and instead lists them by their respective baseball teams; Team Younger Sisters and Team Older Siblings, with Takafumi and Kouko-sensei being listed separately from those teams. Each team still follows the order of the age of their home series and the importance of their roles in said home series.
Episode 8 is the only episode where only one seiyuu plays all the characters. The credits still sort the characters by their home series.
Episode 9 actually puts all the protagonists in one group rather than separating them. They are the only characters who appear in the episode after all.
Episode 11 credits Kaori for having a speaking role, despite Kaori neither appearing nor speaking in the episode, while Sunohara and Kanata are not credited for doing little noises, despite other characters like Kotarou and the Disciplinary Committee Member (voiced by Asami Seto no less) are credited for the very same thing who also appear in the same scenes as them. Tomoyo is credited with her bear outfit in brackets.
Episode 12 also doesn't play the ED. Like the first episode, they show the cast of the five franchises (and mob characters) on one screen. But immediately after The Reveal, the credits for Hinata, Yurippe and Otonashi are shown in front of the respective characters.
Episode 13 also doesn't play the ED. Kappei Hiiragi is not credited along with the other CLANNAD characters, but he's instead credited at the very bottom of the cast list, with a bigger gap between him and the other cast members.
Episode 15's cast list doesn't not only include the cast of the three oldest series, but also adds the cast of Little Busters! and Rewrite under them, while the second half only includes the cast of Angel Beats!.
Episode 18 doesn't play the ED, since the Dorj's cover of Tori no Uta is played instead. Iwasawa is credited to be voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro, even though most of Iwasawa's lines are sung by Marina. But if you pay close attention, you can a little "Hmpf" from Sawashiro. The cast of Little Busters! is listed in the first half, since there are no Kanon characters in the credits, while the second half lists the cast of Rewrite, Angel Beats! and the mob characters.
Episode 19 has Kanna be credited by her shortened name rather than by her full name like in previous episodes. This is ironic, considering that she's referred to by full name in this episode, which is also the first time her full name has been uttered in the series.
Episode 20 doesn't play the ED either.
While the official website and official Twitter account reveal the cast before the episodes are aired, the narrator and characters with very minor speaking rolesnote doing one noise for one scene are never revealed (although this would change with season 2). They still end up in the episode's credits. The exception to the latter are the girls who exclusively appear in Sunohara's harem fantasy in episode 2.
Similarly, prior to the airing of episodes 12 and 13, the credits hid the fact that Otonashi, Yurippe, Hinata and Kappei were going to appear in their respective episodes, since each appearance was supposed to be a surprise.
During season 1, Keiko Suzuki has been credited in almost every episode but episodes 2 and 4.
Kanade Tachibana is credited as "Tenshi" in Kaginado. The official English credits keep "Tenshi" untranslated, while the official Funimation subtitles do translate the nickname as "Angel".
