Trivia / John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme

Go To

  • The Danza:
    • In Series 1-8, whenever the Storyteller's name is mentioned in the story, it's John Finnemore.
    • In addition there are skits that are supposed to be the actors arguing with John about the script, in which they obviously have their real names. Lampshaded in Season 5 Episode 6, where Simon complains that this makes him, the real Simon Kane, sound like a pompous jerk (while acknowledging that this is still one of those skits and John is still writing all his lines), and again in the Christmas Episode, when the BBC lawyers say the skit is offensive to Christians, and insist that this had better be the last we hear of "Margaret Cabourn-Smith".
Margaret: Do they mean the real me or the character me?
John: I'm not sure. Probably best not to take chances.
  • Recycled Script: Some of the skits are reworked from the 2008 one-off John Finnemore, Apparently, including the Annoying Man questioning security codes, Roger Wattis, voice of the silent majority, and the Guy Fawkes sketch where they can't agree on a date.
    • A handful of individual jokes (notably the one about Slightly Off Goofy) appear in Cabin Pressure.
