• Actor Allusion:
  • The two other members of Hook's crew are the musicians who sing and dance at the end during the credits.
  • In "Sail Away Treasure", the Wise Old Parrot calls Hook "old chum".
• Follow the Leader: The show owes much to Dora the Explorer, although this is later subverted when it became its very own thing.
• The Other Darrin:
  • Jake was voiced by Colin Ford in season 1, Cameron Boyce in season 2, Sean Ryan Fox in season 3, and Riley Thomas Stewart in season 4.
  • Izzy is voiced by Madison Pettis in seasons 1-3 and Megan Richie in Season 4.
  • Cubby is voiced by Jonathan Morgan Heit in seasons 1-3 and Jadon Sand in season 4.
  • In the Mexican Spanish dub, the voice actors for Captain Hook, Smee and Wendy were replaced from the dub of Return To Never Land, albeit in this case this is is justified since Captain Hook's voice actor in that film was a Celebrity Voice Actor in that dub.
  • The same goes in the Japanese dub, albeit only Smee got his voice actor replaced, but not Captain Hook.
• Production Posse: A lot of the cast and crew for the series worked on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
• Role Reprise:
  • In the Japanese dub, Naoya Uchida reprises his role as Captain Hook from both the Kingdom Hearts games and the dub of Return To Never Land.
  • In the original English language, Corey Burton and Jeff Bennett return to voicing Captain Hook and Mr. Smee respectively.
• What Could Have Been:
  • The series was originally going to be a Spinoff Babies of Pirates of the Caribbean (yes, really!), but they ditched the idea for a Peter Pan theme instead.
  • The original pilot and pitch bible revealed quite a few changes:
    • The series was originally going to be called "Team Pirate".
    • Jake was originally called Slightly and utilized his spyglass as his pirate tool rather than his sword.
    • Izzy was originally called Reddy.
    • Bucky was originally capable of speech.
    • Skully was originally a non-verbal parrot.
    • The crew originally included an additional member in the form of a headstrong “leap-before-you-look” pirate named Nibs who utilized a fake sword rather than Jake. Nibs would’ve been the type to always rush ahead without a plan, bite off more than he could chew, and try to push others towards a bad idea, especially when it came to Izzy using her pixie dust earlier than she should. This, in addition to him not really providing a real way to help or a purpose during pirate missions, was likely why he was cut and his sword pirate tool was given to Jake.
