• Box Office Bomb: Made back only $12.2 million of its $30 million budget domestically.
• Breakaway Pop Hit: The *NSYNC song "Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays", which became a hit song on the radio around the holidays, was originally written for that film.
• Direct to Video: Went straight to video in the UK in 1999.
• Missing Trailer Scene: The scene where the little boy starts urinating on Jake's lap (seen in the trailer) is cut from the film. "Wet Lap Boy" is still credited despite that though.
• Romance on the Set: Jessica Biel dated Adam LaVorgna, the Ed-Man, after they met while filming.^note Incidentally the following year, LaVorgna would join the cast of 7th Heaven, which Biel was starring in at the time, as Robbie, who initially was the boyfriend of her character, Mary Camden.
• Star-Derailing Role: Jonathan Taylor Thomas's prospects for a serious film career were largely torpedoed after the poor performance of this movie.
• Underage Casting / Vague Age: Since the movie can't decide whether they're high school or college students, this may be the case with Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Jessica Biel and Adam LaVorgna playing college students while aged 15-17 during filming.
