Trivia / Hobgoblins

• Creator Backlash: Surprisingly averted with Daran Norris, who despite going on to better things, looks back on his MC role with fondness and without regrets. Most likely played straight with Paige Sullivan since she is conspicuously absent from this reunion video. Semi-played straight with the rest of the cast. Although they do have a good sense of humor about having been part of the movie, they also don't speak very highly of it.
• Creator's Apathy: According to Sloane, with No Budget and using his friends as actors, they just sped through filming and didn't really try to correct inconsistencies.
• Dawson Casting: None of the leads look even remotely under 21.
• Follow the Leader: While Rick Sloane at least claims he began writing the script before Gremlins was released, several things in the movie are very obviously copied from that film, such as the Hobgoblins having a weakness related to bright lights (in this case not being exposed to them), and the lead actor is clearly doing his best to channel Zach Galligan's performance as Billy.
