Trivia / Hissatsu

Go To

  • Christmas Rushed: One of the main reasons behing Hissatsu Karakurinin Keppūhen's creation was giving main actor Tsutomu Yamazaki something to do until Shin Hissatsu Shiokinin.
  • Direct to Video: The second and third Hissatsu Shimatsunin films, since the series was planned to be shown in an unmade movie theme park.
  • Fountain of Expies: As mentioned in the main page, the long-lasting Hissatsu has inspired dozens of homages in TV, manga and video games, like Sorcerer Hunters, Hell Girl, Knight Hunters. Braiger, Akame ga Kill!, Tenchu or Super Robot Wars UX.
  • Limited Special Collector's Ultimate Edition:
    • In 2020, DeAgoistini, an Italian media company, decided to release the complete classic series (that is to say, all 30 shows from 1972 to 1987) on DVD in Japan, but with a twist on the usual special edition format: they pair three-episode DVDs with a bonus magazine on a weekly basis (and at comparatively affordable prices versus standard DVD sets). To help with storage issues, they included a free DVD collector's box with the second issue.
    • Given Mondo Nakamura's popularity, they also marketed his entire run as a separate collection with the same treatment.
  • No Export for You: So far, only two entries have been translated: Hissatsu Shiokinin (as Samurai Punisher, on HIDIVE), and the film Hissatsu 4: Urami Harashimasu (as Sure Death: Revenge).
  • Recycled Script: Goes with the Strictly Formula plot.
