Trivia / High&Low

• Cash-Cow Franchise: The project seemed to be a surprising success, and they continue to still make movies for it, with a new one coming out in 2019 having Oya High cross over with Crows, of all things.
• The Cast Showoff: A lot of the actors that were hired on the show have significant dancing experience, which is put to use with numerous action scenes filmed without stunt actors.
  • Quite a few songs on the soundtrack are sung by the singers cast in High&Low.
• The Danza: Played with in The Worst, where a real actor's name is given to a completely different group of people. The top dogs at Housen - Odajima, Sawamura, Jinkawa, and Shida - are collectively known as "Ozawahitoshi", which is cobbled together from the first kanji in each of their names. The real Ozawa Hitoshi is a veteran actor known for tough-guy roles. (In fact, he's in the movie as Murayama's boss at the construction site.) This joke comes up exactly once and is never referenced again.
• No Stunt Double: While the actors don't do the really dangerous stunts, there are tons of fight scenes that the actors do themselves that in most productions would have been done by a stunt double. However most of the EXILE members are very talented dancers or are otherwise experienced in action productions, so they're very used to working with tight choreography.
• Production Posse: A good chunk of the actors are from EXILE TRIBE, either as dancers, singers or actors. EXILE's members often appear in shows together, and with High&Low's seeming ambition to include anyone that has any acting talent in the show, it's almost easier to name who's NOT in EXILE. However, some shows and movies where the some of the cast of High&Low have showed up before together are:
  • Sugarless, starring Yamato, Chiharu, Noboru, Shu Kato (from Daruma Ikka), Kirinji, and Ozawa's actors.
  • Wild Heroes, starring Amamiya Masaki, Cobra, ROCKY, Chiharu, Kabuto and Tsukumo's actors.
  • JAM, starring Noboru, Yamato, Tsukumo, Kirinji, Shu Kato and Kabuto's actors.
  • GTO Remake, a live action GTO jdrama remake starring Kohaku, Murayama, and Yamato's actors.
  • Prince Of Legend, another EXILE TRIBE project similar to High&Low in terms of approach (multimedia project meant to produce the brand), contains way too many High&Low actors to count.
