Trivia / Hero Factory

  • Contest Winner Cameo: BZPower's 53rd BIONICLE-Based Creations Contest. The winner was chosen by LEGO and was featured in the TV series (with a somewhat more simplified design).
  • Development Hell: Plans for a live-action movie were announced by Universal in 2012, and that's the last anyone's heard of it.
  • The Other Darrin: Some voice actors varied between episodes of the Animated Adaptation, as well as between the online clips and the TV show, and the entire cast was replaced in the episode Invasion from Below.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The announced but never-made live action movie.
    • Core Hunter's prototype carried the skulls of Heroes he's killed. This gruesome bit of detail was removed from the final product.
    • The episode Invasion from Below was originally written with a genuine happy ending, which was allegedly scrapped in the last twelve hours of production and replaced with a controversial morbid ending.
    • As alleged by concept creator Christian Faber, the toyline was envisioned as a mere starting point to an expanded universe that would have subverted and satirized the generic "designated good guys versus designated villains" superhero plots, revealing many secrets along the way. This concept was rejected by Lego and the series became exactly the thing it was meant to parody. Although hints of the initial idea remained in some of the books, and certain episodes of the cartoon had the heroes attempt and even commit morbid stuff, the decision to "dumb down" the line became one of the main reasons why it garnered such mixed reception from fans of Lego action figures. It is thus far unknown what Faber's extensive but never used universe bible entailed.
    • Hero Factory was initially meant to take place in the BIONICLE universe in some capacity per Christian Faber, but this never came to pass.
