• Acting for Two: Karl-Heinz shared a voice actress with one of the twins most of the time, and it's not like they've never met.
• Cross-Dressing Voices: Karl-Heinz of the Quietschbeus was always voiced by women. Karime Vakilzadeh also introduced his Frankfurt Hessian dialect.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: Only six episodes of the English dub were released on VHS. Subverted with the German original, though; episodes are still being rerun. It's spinoff series The Adventures of Max & Molly and Spencer Kids is quite hard to find due to not having any release other than a few VHS releases and audiobooks.
• The Other Darrin: Some of the characters have gone through up to four voice actors in the German dub, and at least Kasi has had two different puppeteers due to deaths.
• Technology Marches On:
  • The Visophon which Spencer has installed in episode 69 all over the village, requiring quite some construction work to get the cables in the ground. This video telephony and split-screen conference system with dedicated hardware was bordering on hand-waved sci-fi back in the day. As of 2020, billions of people use just this as applications on their computers and smartphones.
  • Some episodes feature short films. For this purpose, film reels are stashed away in Spencer's studio; Elvis is said to take care of them. Even if a VCR is added to the studio later on (which only Spencer can handle as he's the only remaining muppet in the show with functional hands), all this is outdated several times over.
  • Lexi spends his time typing away on his typewriter working on his own encyclopedia, the Lexiklopädie. Writing down knowledge and publishing it has long since been crowdsourced with the advent of wikis in general and Wikipedia in particular—not to mention that typing on a computer would make much less noise and go much less on Nepomuk's nerves.
• What Could Have Been: In early promo flyer of the English dub Elmer was meant to call Elmo and he Lulu were meant married in dub Poldi was gonna called Danny while Nepomuck was going called Grumpo, [1]
