Trivia / Gravestone of Daisuke Jigen

Go To

  • Directed by Cast Member: In the English dub, director Kirk Thornton voices Mamo and several incidentals. This is the norm with Lupin in English, as Richard Epcar directed Part II while voicing Jigen (he would do so again a couple years after this dub beginning with Part IV), and Christopher Sabat & Sonny Strait split direction of Funimation's Lupin titles while voicing Jigen and Lupin respectively.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: Yael's character design seems to be based off of Karl Lagerfeld.
  • The Other Darrin: While multiple (sometimes "competing") dub casts is nothing new for Lupin in English, this one is particularly unusual. BangZoom got TMS's commission and made no effort to use ANY of the preexisting cast lineups… even though all of the "Red Jacket" voice actors had done a lot of work for the studio in the past. Richard Epcar did reprise his role as Zenigata from Fujiko Mine, but that was it.note  Instead, Keith Silverstein voiced Lupin, Dan Woren voiced Jigen (uncredited), and Cristina Vee voiced Fujiko (the first time since the Columbus Files dub that someone other than Michelle Ruff played the character in English).
    • This is also the case with Mamo in Japanese because original actor Ko Nishimura had passed away.
  • Real Song Theme Tune: "Revolver Fires" by Gary Stockdale plays over the end credits.
  • Studio Hop: This time around, the English dub was recorded at BangZoom in Burbank, Cali.
  • What Could Have Been: Goemon was originally supposed to appear, but the writer felt the samurai had no place within a story about shooters. Goemon would get his own story in the following film, 2017's Goemon's Blood Spray.
    • Had Richard Epcar not convinced TMS and Discotek in 2017 to reunite the remaining Geneon/Phuuz English voice cast for Part IV, this film series's lineup could have become the new standard Lupin English cast. Instead, it's an oddity almost on the level of The Fuma Conspiracy's dub while the "Blue Jacket" cast ("Red Jacket" but with Doug Erholtz replacing Dan Lorge as Zenigata due to the latter's retirement) has as of the end of 2021 dubbed two TV series (and announced work on two others), three feature films, and three TV specials.
