• Based on a Dream: This started out as the main author Guile Mustang's dream of Chrono Cross characters replacing the digimon partners in Digimon Tamers.
  • Draggy replaces Guilmon.
  • Guile replaces Renamon.
  • Starky replaces Terriermon.
• Creator Backlash: The creator has put this work into hiatus because of this.
• Inspiration for the Work: Guile's character is inspired by various animes and mangas. He initially starts off more like Renamon, but as the author and co-authors discuss more, Guile ends up more like a combination of Gohan and Whitebeard than Renamon alone.
• Similarly Named Works: The Chrono Cross fanfic, or the Heroic Fantasy TTRPG?
• What Could Have Been: Information is received from Word of God.
  • The first plan was to have Guile as a partner to the Nice Guy Ari. However, the author Guile Mustang decided to have Draggy as Ari's partner, while Guile ended up as a partner to the Jerkass Entitled Bastard Yoshino to increase the tension of the story.
  • Guile's initial motive of becoming Yoshino's partner is so that he will be able to defeat his rival. He is also portrayed to be hostile towards his rival, which results in him almost getting decapitated by his rival's lover. Word of God confirms his rival is Riddel, and her lover is Karsh. This will be revealed in later chapters.
    • The rivalry issue was kept (for later arcs), but Guile did not have anything against his rival and never had such death threat. Guile's Back Story in turn, was replaced with a Darker and Edgier subject which led him into an interesting combination of The Stoic (sometimes Not So Stoic) and Desperately Craves Affection.
  • Skelly's first appearance in the real world was once planned to be very similar to Impmon's. Skelly was initially a friend to a very young twin, but he ran away from them because of their continuous quarrels over the ownership of an object.
    • It was replaced with his conflict with Draggy's mother.
• Write What You Know: One of the co-authors, Legendary Biologist, is a medical student. Most of the medical topics are handled by the said co-author.
