• Creator Couple:
  • Director/writer Charles Shyer and writer/producer Nancy Meyers were married at the time of production. They have since divorced.
  • Sandra Silvestri, who appeared as a jogging mother in Part II, is married to the film's composer Alan Silvestri.
• Fake Nationality: Eugene Levy, a Canadian of Jewish descent, plays the Arabic Mr. Habib in Part II.
• The Other Darrin: In the Japanese dub of Part II, George Banks was voiced by Michio Hazama, since his actor for the first film, Kei Tomiyama, died before the film was dubbed.
• Production Posse:
  • Producer Nancy Meyers and director Charles Shyer previously worked on Baby Boom (1987) with Diane Keaton.
  • Jay Wolpert's cameo in the sequel likely came from having Nancy Meyers as a production assistant back in the 70s when he was working on The Price Is Right (and he later credited Meyers with giving him the push into screenwriting).
• Real-Life Relative: Charles Shyer and Nancy Meyers' daughters Annie and Hallie Meyers-Shyer played the flower girls in the first film. For Part II, Annie played a baby shower guest and Hallie portrayed the 7-year-old Annie Banks.

  • Phoebe Cates was offered the role of Annie Banks, but had to decline it because of her pregnancy.
