• Science Marches On: This episode corrects the outdated paleontological aspects from the original show.
  • Pretty much the main reason for Tootsie's redesign as more of a warm-blooded animal than a cold-blooded reptile. The image of dinosaurs as lumbering, tail-dragging, lizard-like giants doesn't exist anymore, especially after the release of Jurassic Park.
  • The same goes for Bubba's re-characterization as a Genius Bruiser rather than a Dumb Muscle, since Neanderthals and other prehistoric humans turned out to be just as intelligent as their modern relatives. Him being an ancestor of the McDucks is also a case of this; almost all non-African modern humans are descended from Neanderthals which mated with Homo sapiens.
  • An example made by the show: Huey makes mention of mastodon fur when describing the replica of a Stone Age hut he made for Bubba. Recently, there has been doubt whether mastodons were as furry as commonly depicted.
• The Other Darrin: Dee Bradley Baker voices Bubba instead of Frank Welker.
