  • Author's Saving Throw: After years of Global being six months behind on content with the Japanese version getting hit with accusations of favoritism from the developers, the 2023 Worldwide Celebration announced that the Global and Japanese servers will finally sync up, ensuring that the international fans will be able to use the shiny new units the same day as the original Japanese servers.
  • Bad Export for You:
    • Downplayed, but there are times where the Global version will introduce new bugs that were never present at all in the Japanese version (such as the Giant Form bug, where the game would crash if a Giant Form character defeats the enemy team after one of your allies has already transformed).
    • The Japanese version will have the most content in their version of any joint celebration while the Global release will usually have some of its content removed or replaced due to Global running on a different release schedule. The content removal may even be superfluous and inconsistent.
      • While FLOW's "HERO ~ Kibou no Uta" was played during the game's menu in the Japanese during the 2023 Saiyan Day celebration, it does not play in the Global version for some reason despite its association with the Battle of Gods movie the celebration is based on.
  • Christmas Rushed: [Peerless Gleam] Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta and [Crashing Maelstorm] Shenron were hastily pushed out to celebrate Global's 200 Million Download celebration. Because Global didn't have the category system implemented (let alone translated), the two cards were launched with leader skills simply saying "To be Released". Trying to run them as leaders back then provided no bonuses to your team.
  • Content Leak:
    • During the 4.16.0 update for Global, they inavertedly leaked the Dokkan Festival banner for Super Saiyan Trunks (Kid) & Super Saiyan Goten (Kid) in the files, revealing that Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta is the featured unit in Frieza (Final Form) (Angel)'s stead way before the official release.
    • When they announced the stream for the 350 Million Download Celebration, they used an artwork of Goku during the Saiyan Saga that wasn't released in the time of the stream leading fans to speculate on a potential Saiyan Saga Dokkan Festival unit, later revealed to be the tutorial arts for Goku and Piccolo. This was hastily replaced with the version from Namek Saga just an hour later.
    • Even though the identity of the 7th Anniversary Dokkan Festival units were meant to be kept as a secret, the Global database accidentally kept the identity of the units within them, which ended up spoiling the intended reveal of the Anniversary LRs.
  • Cowboy BeBop at His Computer:
    • Prior to the 2023 WWC, for some reason, this game really liked to make you think Goku and Vegeta fused into SSB Vegito against Super Saiyan Rose Goku Black, as both of their Dokkan Fests were released at the same time, being polar opposites of each other in terms of attribute types and leader skill, and the fact that they each deal extra damage towards their opposite's bossesnote . In actuality, Goku and Vegeta never got the idea to use the Potara earrings until after Black and Zamasu fused themselves.
    • Despite the fact that their Establishing Character Moment from Dragon Ball Z: Bardock - The Father of Goku involves razing a planet to ashes so they can sell it, the game paints Bardock and his crew as heroic Super Class characters (nor were they in Terrifying Conquerors in spite of their mentioned Establishing Character Moment) just because they openly opposes Frieza and his men even though the latter betrayed them first, only being pissed that Frieza is gonna murder their entire race, not because they express regret like what the dub makes you believe.
  • Distanced from Current Events: The 2018 Social Media Frieza Campaign ended up having its Japanese portion cancelled on September 6, 2018, in the wake of the Hokkaido earthquake.
  • Dummied Out: While you can only ran 4 Support Items, there were 2 locked spaces indicating that there seemed to be plans of having 2 additional Item slots and as shown in developer builds, are fully usable and capable of being used. However said slots were never released and by the 6th Anniversary, the slots have been removed from the files in favor of Support Memories.
  • Marth Debuted in "Smash Bros.":
    • While Ultra Instinct Goku and Jiren were already revealed through subbed streams of Dragon Ball Super, it's played straight if you're following the dub release, as the two had their Dokkan Fests back when Funimation was still dubbing the Goku Black Saga.
    • Played completely straight with Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta (GT), who first appeared in Dragon Ball Heroes, but was brought over due to AGL SSJ4 Vegeta's Dokkan event including that card as one of the phases.
  • No Dub for You:
    • Subverted. Global at first only had Japanese voices, but the English ones were added as an option in 2016.
    • Due to being Heroes exclusive unit (which itself did not have an English dub even on International versions), [Ultimate Godslayer] Super Hearts does not have a voiced Active Skill if the vocals are set to English.
    • Strangely, [Fused Fighter Who Surpasses All] Super Full Power Saiyan 4 Limit Breaker Vegito (Xeno) also lacks voice acting in English despite Sean and Chris reprising their roles for Dokkan-exclusive voice clips in the past, implying the existence of some form of clause that prevents any Heroes characters from receiving any form of English voice cast.
  • The Original Darrin: Surprisingly, this game managed to do it to Teen Gohan while his current voice is still in the game. Colleen Clinkenbeard still provided the Active Skill voice for [Awakened True Power] Super Saiyan Gohan (Youth), but due to the developers using archival recordings, Stephanie Nadolny ended up voicing [Earth-Protecting Flash] Super Saiyan 2 Gohan (Youth), with voice clips lifted from the first Budokai Tenkaichi.
  • The Other Darrin: As of March 2021, Johnny Yong Bosch has replaced Vic Mignogna as Broly's voice actor, dubbing over the Active Skills for [Nightmarish Impact] Super Saiyan Broly and [Instinctive Destruction] Legendary Super Saiyan Broly.
  • Role Reprise: While it's not too unusual for the Japanese actors to reprise their roles for a mobile game, it's particularly notable that Namco-Bandai actually managed to get Sean Schemmel (Goku), Eric Vale (Future Trunks), and Christopher Sabat (Shenron) to record dialogue for the Global version; whereas most Japanese mobile games with voices - save for Fire Emblem Heroes - tend to be limited to their native language when released overseas.
  • Schedule Slip:
    • Comes into play with a vengeance on the Global server, as events or characters already available on the Japanese servers could take months or even years to come out worldwide, if they even come out at all.
    • [Netherworld Demon] Super Janemba's Extreme Z-Awakening came out during [Epitome of Sublime Beauty] Goku Black's Dokkan Festival celebration on JP server. However on Global server, [Warrior's True Value] Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta became the EZA in Janemba's place and when coupled with a Global-first LR (which didn't feature any new Extreme Z-Battles) along with Global's 4th Anniversary, the event ended up being delayed to August 2019, 8 months after Janemba was released on JP server.
    • [Fire of Vengeance] Golden Frieza Extreme Z-Awakening and [Two Makes the Strongest of All Universes] Super Saiyan 2 Caulifla & Super Saiyan 2 Kale was released on JP server during [Assasin's Ultimate Technique] Hit's Dokkan Festival. However because Global already got them beforehand during Christmas, their released ended up being severely delayed for 8 months until the next Christmas celebration which similarly features a Global-first Dokkan Festival unit.
    • [Explosive Evolution] Turles first appeared in August 2018 in-between the Global's 3rd Anniversary and the 250 Million Download Celebration. However, it took 11 months for Turles to reappear in STR Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta's banner in the 4th Anniversary due to the fact on JP server, Turles returns in the 250 Million Download Celebration which Global just got in the previous celebration, with Super #17 being the featured unit in Turles's place.
    • [Assassin's Ultimate Technique] Hit first appeared in the Global server on 2018 as the Christmas Dokkan Festival unit. However it took exactly 1 year for him to return in other banners which is during the 2019 Christmas Dokkan Festival banner where it features the Global First Super Saiyan God SS Goku (Kaioken). For comparison, on JP server, Hit first appeared on April 2019 before returning in October 2019, both of which are in-between the gap of Hit's Global release and his return.
    • [Instinctive Destruction] Legendary Super Saiyan Broly was released on Global during Saiyan Day, at the same time as JP's release time. However, unlike Bardock before him, Broly only returned in January 2022, almost 10 months later after his first appearance in Super Vegeta's banner. This is due to the fact that 2021 WWC's Global featured was identical to the JP version rather than featuring Bardock in the Golden Week unit's place for JP like last year because unlike the previous year, Golden Week ended up becoming a shared celebration for both servers. Another reason for this is the fact that after Global's Thank-You celebration featuring Super Gogeta, Caulifla & Kale was released first in Vegeta's place for Christmas celebration, further delaying Broly another month before finally returning during the New Years celebration.
    • Worldwide Download Celebration LRs such as Gohan, Cell, Vegito and Buuhan only returns in the Anniversary after their first appearance. While it wasn't an issue on JP server as it's only a 5 month gap, since Global has the celebration at the same time as JP, this meant that Global will only get them during their Anniversary in July which is about 10 months after they first arrived. And in an inversion to this trope, those units also return for the second time in the next WWC banner which for Global, is only about one and a half months compared to JP.
  • Screwed by the Lawyers: Due to Vic Mignogna getting terminated from Funimation following the allegations against him, as well as Vic preparing to sue Funimation over defamation, Broly's Active Skill was redubbed if the voices are set to English.
  • Vaporware:
    • [The Ultimate Fighting Squadron] Captain Ginyu (Ginyu Force) fell hard into this for Global players, thanks to that server never getting the 1.0 version of the Virtual Dokkan Ultimate Clash. When Ultimate Clash 2.0 was finally brought over nearly a year later, he's considered nothing more than a Bragging Rights Reward due to his outdated leader and flat passive skills restricting him, especially in regards to [Ginyu Force Reborn] Ginyu (Goku) (Ginyu Force).
      • Downplayed once he gained his EZA, filling a niche as a nice all types lead for F2P players, and a good support for Ginyu Force teams.
    • Only three copies of [Grand Opening] Team Bardock can be obtained. This means that only 2 Potential paths of the unit can be unlocked with the other 2 has so far yet to be released. It took an EZA for the Team Bardock URs before a fourth copy has finally been released one year later but the last copy needed to rainbow their Potential System took well until the March 4th, 2024 update after the 9th Anniversary for the JP version to get it alongside the unit's long-needed EZA (along with a massive overhaul of the Ginyu Force and Team Bardock F2P Team Events) but Global still has yet to get it for the moment.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • [Naught but Rampage] Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks's 12-Ki Super Attack "Life-Risking Blow" was originally supposed to Cast from Hit Points, but massive pushback from the community forced Akatsuki to change it to a simple 1-turn ATK raise.
    • [Victory Clincher] Goku (GT) almost launched with "Shattering The Limit" as part of its Link set, which wouldn't have been an issue had it not been for the fact that he needed the Dokkan Fest Super Full Power Saiyan 4 Goku's medals to Dokkan Awaken. Unsurprisingly, Akatsuki also received backlash for this
    • The 4th Anniversary units [Apex of Supreme Saiyan Power] Super Saiyan 4 Goku and [Unrivaled Saiyan's Peak] Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta originally were going to have the very, very simple passives of simply ATK +80% and DEF +80% respectively, with some theorizing that Akatsuki was banking on their abilities to massively raise ATK & DEF upon launching their Ultra/Super Attack to more than make up for it.
