Per TRS, this was renamed to Incidental Multilingual Wordplay and moved to Trivia

Added DiffLines:

* IncidentalMultilingualWordplay: At one point, Yangus mentions he noticed something while he was picking his nose... picking some flowers. It works both way, as "Hana" is both the Japanese word for "Nose" and "Flower" and in English, picking is something you can do to both one's nose and to flowers. The Pun pun translates into both languages. Though the pun used is different, the joke is the same.

YMMV

* FanNickname:
** There are some who refer to TheHero as Eight, seeing as though that's how he's apparently referred to in the manual. Others dub him Guv, after Yangus's nickname for him.
** Captain Douchebag for Marcello, as heard in a LetsPlay of the game.

DQIX was actually pretty successful when it came out.

* NetworkToTheRescue: After the underwhelming sales of IX and the Zenithia Trilogy Remakes on the DS, it was left up in the air if anymore of the mainline Dragon Quest games would actually see localization in the West. To the surprise of many, Nintendo stepped in once again to publish the 3DS remakes for VII and VIII in the West, with the Nintendo Treehouse even being responsible for the translation of the new scenes in the game.

Not an example because the moble version wasn't voiced in Japan either.

* FanNickname: There are some who refer to TheHero as Eight, seeing as though that's how he's apparently referred to in the manual. Others dub him Guv, after Yangus's nickname for him.
