  • Creator Backlash:
    • As revealed on a Lies of P stream, Doug's least favorite Running Gag is Magic Hat, not even due to his dislike of how the power worked in-game (which is why it became a meme in the first place), but rather due to viewing it as the least creative joke Chat jokes about, deeming it nothing more than just spamming the same sentence. To a lesser extent, he wasn't fond of the Deez Nuts jokes, at least before he started getting his mods to "execute" the jokesters.
    • The ''Lies Of P'' stream reveals that Doug's least favorite video is his very first challenge video, Can you beat Mario Bros 1-1 with ONLY voice commands?. Despite it being the start what became his signature brand of videos, Doug calls out his younger self for his lack of confidence, comparing it to watching embarrassing yourself in a social situation.
    • Doug has gone on to admit that he dislikes chat going on "strike" in protest to something he decides. He admits it was fine when there was something that was more understandable, but instead it became used whenever chat was mildly unhappy about something.
  • Corpsing: The otherwise perfectly composed lady narrator of the Zelda Blue Apron ad breaks character and laughs in bewilderment after doing a bad impression of Mary Berry.
  • Fan Community Nicknames: Parodied in I read “Twitch for Dummies” to see if I’m a good streamer: Twitch Chat collectively went by the "Dirty grimy smelly untrained unwashed dogs" after Doug read about how his community was supposed to have a name.
  • Promoted Fan Boy: The creator of the DougDoug Clips channel was originally just a fan of Doug's content who wanted to create a channel for sharing clips. Due to becoming popular around the time Doug was looking for more people to bring on to the team, the DougDoug Clips channel became an official part of Doug's channel.
  • What Could Have Been: After promising to get a Rosa tattoo for a charity milestone on Rosa's birthday in 2022, Doug confessed on-stream that would be no longer the case after thinking things through, and he would do something else in return.note
  • Why Fandom Can't Have Nice Things: In early 2024, Doug started streaming on both Twitch and Youtube, but only two-ish months later stopped streaming on Youtube, partially because of the frustrations with trying to do both, but also because it lead to the chats for both becoming a bit too hostile towards each other, and Doug finding the Youtube crowd harder to deal with.
  • Word of Saint Paul: Parkzer has a section on his blog dedicated to posts involving Doug in some capacity. Some of these posts detail his involvement in Doug's antics and serve as supplementary reading material for videos such as Shufflemania, the fast food challenge, and the stock market challenge.
