• Beam Me Up, Scotty!: Dixon's catchphrase is commonly misquoted as "Evening, all."
• Dawson Casting: Jack Warner was already sixty when the series began, past the age at which a policeman would have retired.
• Missing Episode: Most of the original 432 episodes are still missing due both to the programme being broadcast live and not recorded in the early days, and The BBC's later policy of wiping video tapes for re-use. Only 33 episodes still exist in full, and extracts exist for a further 19.
• The Other Darrin: Mary Dixon was played by Billie Whitehall in the first series and Jeanette Hutchinson for the rest of the series.
• Pop-Culture Urban Legends: Legend has it that the original TARDIS police-box prop came from this show. (It didn't).
• Uncredited Role: Vicki Michelle as an extra in "Nightmare".
