• Breakup Breakout: After Mascis fired Barlow, he formed the successful bands Sebadoh and The Folk Implosion.
• Creator Backlash: Though Bug is one of the band's more highly regarded albums, Mascis has said that it's his least favorite of their catalog.
• Creator's Favorite Episode: In an installment of Vice's ''Rank Your Records'', J Mascis stated that You're Living All Over Me is his favorite Dinosaur Jr. album.
• Screwed by the Lawyers: The band was simply called Dinosaur when they first formed. A supergroup called the Dinosaurs—made up of ex-members of Jefferson Airplane, Moby Grape, The Grateful Dead, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Country Joe And The Fish, and Hot Tuna—heard and sued them. The lawsuit would seem to lack merit, as they weren't actually using the same name, but the other musicians had more money for legal fees than a young trio from Boston, so it was easier for the latter to add "Jr." to the name to further distinguish them.
• What Could Have Been: Riot Grrrl bassist Donna Dresch of the queercore band Team Dresch joined the group on tour briefly after Barlow left but didn't stay.
