- Author's Saving Throw: The Milkbar Lads cite feedback determining that Chunks was far too easy to defeat (either with brute force or by perpetually running away from him while shooting him so that he was unable to catch up and react) as to why they gave him the ability to heal when he travels between two rooms and made his attacks more dangerous and harder to dodge in the Axe to Grind update.
- Colbert Bump: The game garnered quite a bit of attention from Australian YouTuber Indeimaus' videos on it, so much so that the devs repaid the favor by adding a portrait of his editor Sallie that can appear throughout the Estate.
- Descended Creator:
- Jack, the game's lead programmer, voices both Mumba and Chunks.
- Milkyace, one of the game's character designers and the artist who did Cordelia's shop portraits, voices Anya in Assignment Anya.
- He Also Did: Valentine Stokes, Axel's voice actor, also voiced Zib in the Lackadaisy pilot.
- Refitted for Sequel: BOSS was originally an unused character who received no more than a single bit of MS Paint concept art and ultimately ended up on the cutting room floor for the game's release. Milkbar Lads managed to actually properly design her and add her to the game in the Bombs Away update. Her original outfit from that concept art is her Costume B.
- Rule 34 – Creator Reactions: The Milkbar Lads are very well aware and supportive of the amount of Perverse Sexual Lust and pornography created of the female Dead Estate characters (most prominently Cordelia) since they knew exactly what they were doing when they designed them and what people are most aware of their game for, and sometimes even share Rule 34 of their characters around themselves. It's even lampshaded in Assignment Anya's B-rank ending, where one of the books in the background is an extremely thick tome called "Cordelia NSFW comments".
- Schedule Slip: Update number 5 was supposed to release in spring 2023 and update 6 in the summer of that same year, before they both got pushed back much later due to update 5 ballooning in size far beyond what the Milkbar Lads had initially anticipated.
- What Could Have Been:
- Luis was first designed as a jolly fat officer until the devs settled with making him a Silver Fox detective. His hair was also originally going to be brown instead of gray.
- Fuji originally had a mullet instead of a ponytail in her earliest stages.
- Lydia was first designed with a shorter haircut and glasses.
- Jeff was originally going to be a handsome young man who evoked a younger Chris Redfield, before they changed him into a grizzled trucker, although the old design was later repurposed into the Young Jeff costume. They also had multiple designs for this Jeff; one had a bald head and a wizened beard, another had a trucker cap and glasses.
- The devs originally planned for Cordelia's Dad to be a huge, buff demon man in a hawaiian shirt.
- Jules had a different sprite and character select portrait in the Newgrounds version of the game.
- Cordelia could have been found in another shop where she would have sported a priest's hood and carried a staff with a cadeuceus, presumably some kind of healing station. Another costume was designed for the shop that gave Cordelia a gothic maidlike outfit and had her holding a large golden key.
- Word of God: According to the developers, Jules is Filipina despite it not being mentioned in-game.
