  • He Also Did:
  • Milestone Celebration:
    • After having its August 22 premiere in Crystal City, Virginia, Dash and Dot's Wild Ride premiered at Universal Studios Hollywood on September 6, 2009, coinciding with PBS Kids' 10 year anniversary.
    • The film was re-released on Blu-ray and DVD on September 6, 2019 to coincide with PBS Kids' 20th anniversary.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Originally, in 2008, Mason was going to be voiced by Vin Diesel of Fast and Furious fame, delivering a sinister performance that some compared to Sideshow Bob from The Simpsons. But, after test audiences found Vin Diesel's performance to be "too frightening for children", he was ultimately replaced by Peter Greene. Previously portraying Zed in Pulp Fiction and Dorian Tyrell in The Mask, Greene delivered a less sinister sounding-yet-comedic performance, which was approved and put into the final film by casting executives. Despite this, Vin Diesel's voice work of Mason still exists and is available in the film's director's cut on the Blu-ray release.
    • Christopher Lennertz, who had previously done the score for Alvin and the Chipmunks and Disaster Movie, was originally interested in composing the score for Dash and Dot's Wild Ride, and had signed a contract with Universal Animation Studios in 2008. However, his plans never went through, and he eventually left the project in favor of James Newton Howard, with some of his acclaimed work including Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Peter Pan and The Dark Knight. Despite not being involved with the composition of the score, Christopher Lennertz went on to make the music for Shot-to-Dot and Taking Flight, after he revealed in an interview with NBC News that he had a "fond liking with PBS Kids' mascots when they first debuted back in 1999".
