* '''He Also Did:'''
** Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger, the film's screenwriters, were also known for their writing work on the ''[[Franchise/KungFuPanda Kung Fu Panda]]'' tetralogy, the [[Film/AlvinAndTheChipmunksTheSqueakquel second]] and [[Film/AlvinAndTheChipmunksChipwrecked third]] ''[[Film/AlvinandtheChipmunks Alvin and the Chipmunks]]'' films, ''[[WesternAnimation/TheSpongeBobMovieSpongeOutOfWater The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water]]'', ''[[WesternAnimation/{{Trolls}} Trolls]]'', and its sequels ''WesternAnimation/TrollsWorldTour'' and ''WesternAnimation/TrollsBandTogether''.
** Chris Meledandri, the film's executive producer, was also known for being the executive producer of the Creator/BlueSkyStudios films ''WesternAnimation/IceAge'', ''[[WesternAnimation/{{Robots}} Robots]]'', ''WesternAnimation/IceAgeTheMeltdown'' and ''[[WesternAnimation/HortonHearsaWho2008 Horton Hears a Who!]]'', before he left 20th Century Animation the year before the latter movie came out.
* '''Milestone Celebration:'''
** After having its August 22 premiere in Crystal City, Virginia, ''Dash and Dot's Wild Ride'' premiered at Universal Studios Hollywood on September 6, 2009, coinciding with PBS Kids' 10 year anniversary.
** The film was re-released on Blu-ray and DVD on September 6, 2019 to coincide with PBS Kids' 20th anniversary.
* '''What Could Have Been:'''
** Originally, in 2008, Mason was going to be voiced by Vin Diesel of ''[[Film/TheFastAndTheFurious Fast and Furious]]'' fame, delivering a sinister performance that some compared to Sideshow Bob from ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons''. But, after test audiences found Vin Diesel's performance to be "too frightening for children", he was ultimately replaced by Peter Greene. Previously portraying Zed in ''Film/PulpFiction'' and Dorian Tyrell in ''Film/TheMask'', Greene delivered a less sinister sounding-yet-comedic performance, which was approved and put into the final film by casting executives. Despite this, Vin Diesel's voice work of Mason still exists and is available in the film's director's cut on the Blu-ray release.
** [[Music/ChristopherLennertz Christopher Lennertz]], who had previously done the score for ''[[Film/AlvinandtheChipmunks1 Alvin and the Chipmunks]]'' and ''[[Film/DisasterMovie2008 Disaster Movie]]'', was originally interested in composing the score for ''Dash and Dot's Wild Ride'', and had signed a contract with Creator/UniversalAnimationStudios in 2008. However, his plans never went through, and he eventually left the project in favor of [[Music/JamesNewtonHoward James Newton Howard]], with some of his acclaimed work including ''WesternAnimation/AtlantisTheLostEmpire'', ''Film/PeterPan'' and ''Film/TheDarkKnight''. Despite not being involved with the composition of the score, Christopher Lennertz went on to make the music for ''[[https://dashanddotfanon.fandom.com/wiki/Shot-to-Dot Shot-to-Dot]]'' and ''[[https://dashanddotfanon.fandom.com/wiki/Taking_Flight Taking Flight]]'', after he revealed in an interview with NBC News that he had a "fond liking with PBS Kids' mascots when they first debuted back in 1999".
