- Accidentally Correct Zoology: The fur colors of Big Red, Murray and the other members of their pack are reddish to yellowish. There is some speculation now that dire wolves in actuality, might’ve been reddish-yellowish in color.
- All-Star Cast: For a show made by the same company as Sesame Street, they managed to bring several recognizable American voice actors onboard, including Frank Welker, Jim Cummings, Charlie Adler, Tress MacNeille, Candi Milo, even a young Jussie Smollett, fresh off of The Mighty Ducks.
- Keep Circulating the Tapes: Three VHS tapes, with two episodes each, were released in the US, along with some various European releases, but the entire series has not seen an official reissue since.
- Out of Order: If Wikipedia is to be believed, "Lever In a Million Years" aired as the fourth episode of the second season, but it's very clear it was meant to be the first episode, due to being about the humans and mammoths meeting for the first time.
