• Banned In Russia: Not actually banned, but Universal Pictures International Russia decided not to release the film, as they was thought that a film with such a strong anti-Soviet tone would be unlikely to make a profit in Russia. Among the Russians who have seen the film, the response is overwhelmingly negative.
• What Could Have Been: The movie was supposed to end with footage of the 9/11 attacks, but apparently Tom Hanks thought it would be too grim to show.
