• Actor-Shared Background: Reese, like his actor Shemar Moore, is a biracial man, as his father turns out to be white with his mother being black.
• Executive Meddling:
  • The higher ups wanted Oracle out of the wheelchair, so the writers brought in the spinal attachment device to allow her to walk for a few moments.
  • Averted somewhat in that, despite the series being cancelled prior to the Season Finale being produced, they allowed the episode to be made and broadcast, avoiding No Ending.
• Fake American:
  • Canadian Rachel Skarsten as American Dinah Redmond.
  • Stephen McHattie as the original Al Hawke is another Canadian-as-American example.
• The Other Marty: In the original pilot, Harley was played by Sherilyn Fenn, but in the series proper, she's played by Mia Sara.
• Role Reprise: Batman: The Animated Series veteran Mark Hamill reprises his main role here, dubbing over the Joker in the few flashbacks we see him depicted in.
• What Could Have Been:
  • In the original pilot, the Barbara/Wade relationship was falling apart already, whereas in the actual series, they first meet in the premiere.
  • Brandy Ledford was considered for the role of Oracle.
  • Showrunner Latea Kalogridis planned to introduce Dick Grayson, Koriand'r, Oliver Queen and Cass Cain into the show had it been renewed for a second season.
