Trivia / Bendy and the Dark Revival

Go To

  • Acting for Two: Lani Minella voiced both Heidi and one of the two Keeper voices, and as in the previous game, both Alice Angel toons are voiced by Lauren Synger. TheMeatly voices Lord Amok and also reprises his role as Henry Stein.
  • Fake American: The British Dawko masks his natural accent with a gruff American-sounding one for Lance Derby's audio log.
  • Dummied Out: Hidden in the code of the game is a poem by Mike Mood, venting over his frustrations with the game and others.
  • The Other Darrin: Originally voiced by David Eddings in Ink Machine, Joey Drew is voiced by Dave Rivas in Dark Revival.
  • Promoted Fan Boy: The "Paid To Die" voice recording by Archie Carter was voiced by Mike Bambridge of the SuperHorrorBro YouTube channel that's famous for its Bendy and the Ink Machine videos.
  • Reality Subtext: The Mad Artist in chapter 2 who tells Audrey to go get his drawings and can be heard wailing about how they're his "original characters" eerily parallels what happened with series co-creator Mike Mood back in 2020, who began claiming ownership over various Bendy characters, which snowballed into a whole fiasco that likely contributed to the game's Development Hell.
  • Role-Ending Misdemeanor: Following a series of controversies that affected Kindly Beast Studios (including the mass layoff of several employees and a lawsuit against their merch company), Mike Mood went completely uncredited in the final release of the game.
  • Schedule Slip: The game was meant to release on December 13, 2019, but then was pushed out to 2020 and then even later until November 15, 2022.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The game was originally conceptualized to be neither a prequel or sequel or alternate universe to Ink Machine before becoming a direct sequel at some point during production.
    • Early merchandise shows that the Ink Demon initially looked much closer to his appearance in the first game, before being completely redesigned at some point during development. The Archives state that the original design was cut because it clashed with the darker atmosphere.
    • The Archives revealed several things:
      • Baby Bendy was meant to speak in a squeaky voice. He was made silent because this voice was considred to be distracting.
      • Sammy Lawrence was going to have a bigger role in the plot outside of his cameos, but was cut out for time.
      • Big Steve was going to be a wandering enemy similar to the Ink Demon. His role in the game was specifically changed for that reason.
      • Wilson and Nathan Arch's son were originally going to be two different people; they were merged into one to make the story simpler.
