Fridge Brilliance

  • The Reveal of Henry and Allison's true identities makes Allison's line from the previous game, "Then you know more than we do, one minute we don't even exist, just.... thoughts, the next, this place" much more meaningful in hindsight when you realize that she quite literally didn't exist until Joey started to regret his actions enough to decide Henry needed a Hope Bringer. It's also worth noting that while Cartoon Joey's explanation led many fans to believe he was implying all of the ink toons were merely copies of their real world counterparts, he only specifically says Henry and Allison are clones, while leaving out the origins of the others. Even when he's telling the truth Joey still can't help being dishonest!

Fridge Horror

  • We finally have an explanation for how death works in The Cycle. The memo "The Ghosts" tells us that when an ink toon is killed, their souls are pulled back into the ink to be reborn, but sometimes their souls are pulled from the ink completely leaving them trapped between worlds, unable to die or return. All of the corpses you see throughout the series? They might not be as dead as they appear.
