• Colbert Bump:
  • The manga and OVA got a bit more attention after Ikuro was added to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle as a Guest Fighter.
  • Prior to that, there was Bennet the Sage’s Anime Abandon episode on the OVA.
• Disowned Adaptation: Kind of. While Araki was impressed with how well put together the OVA was despite its production issues, he did take issue with it being so short and basically cramming all the story into a single 45-minute OVA. He said that he would’ve preferred if it was made as two OVAs in order to properly adapt the whole manga.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes:
  • The OVA has yet to be released on Blu-Ray and the last DVD release is long out of print.
  • The cover seen on the main page? That's all that remains of the cover art. Araki said that he lost the original drawing when Shueisha was changing headquarters, thus, every time said illustration is shown on re-releases of the manga and other related material, it’s ALWAYS the one with the Weekly Shonen Jump logo and blurbs.
• Stillborn Franchise: The Sequel Hook shows that Araki was probably planning to continue the story, but ultimately never did. And with his focus on his most famous creation, it’s highly unlikely he’ll ever consider revisiting it given its relative obscurity.
