• First short film at Pixar to be directed by a woman.
• Shown before Incredibles 2 (2018).
• The film won an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film.
• The title "Bao" roughly translates to "baby". Small children or the youngest in Chinese families are affectionately called "Bao Bao".
• As of April 2022, it is the most recent short film made by Pixar to be released theatrically.
• Company Cross References: In Turning Red, a restaurant in Mei's neighborhood has the logo for Bao on its sign. Both films were also directed by Domee Shi, making this somewhat of a director cross reference, as well.
