Trivia / Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore

Go To

  • Celebrity Voice Actor: A few of the game's minor characters are voiced by gaming YouTubers: the announcer in the bonus stages is voiced by Wrestling With Gaming, Frich the frog is voiced by Vinny Vinesauce, and Joe the volcano-bathing surfer is voiced by Modern Vintage Gamer. Joe even has an Actor Allusion in his dialogue, using Modern Vintage Gamer's recurring catchphrase "mistakes were made" in one of his text-only lines.
  • Corpsing: Motte's dialogue features what appears to be unscripted laughter from her voice actress, likely due to the terrible Gratuitous French she's made to read. It's left in the final game, and the animation features Motte laughing accordingly.
  • Creator Backlash: While Jimmy Davis doesn't hate the game by a long shot, he doesn't like how the cutscenes he made came out, stating that he isn't an animator, and that he pulled it off by imitating the movement and framing style of the CD-I with simple 3D models, and then rotoscoping over them with a mouse and 2011 version of GIMP.
  • Cross-Dressing Voices: Daimur, the game's male Big Bad, is voiced by trans woman Teffi Anisette Wynn (credited as Stephanie Arata in the game's credits).
  • Descended Creator: Among the game's voice acting credits are Dopply himself and several Limited Run Games staffers, who combined voice about half of the game's characters.
  • Inspiration for the Work: Aside from the obvious inspiration from The Legend of Zelda CD-i Games, the developers cited Monster World as gameplay inspiration.
  • Meaningful Release Date: The game was announced (and originally set to release) in 2023, 30 years after the release of The Faces of Evil and The Wand of Gamelon. Its Steam page was posted on October 10, 2023, the 30th anniversary of both of those games.
  • Release Date Change: The game was originally slated for a 2023 release window, to coincide with the 30th anniversary of The Faces of Evil and The Wand of Gamelon's release, before ultimately being delayed to February 2024.
