- Executive Meddling: The 1949 law governing children's literature forbid Alix from having a female companion initially.
- Follow the Leader: The first album of the series, Alix l'intrépide, was heavily inspired by Ben-Hur.
- No Export for You: Only a few of the albums have been published in languages other than French and Dutch. Albums 1-15 and 17-26 are or were available in German and Alix Senator is an ongoing project in German as well, with all 13 available so far.
- Outlived Its Creator: Since Jacques Martin's death in 2010, new issues of Alix comes out written by various authors.
