Trivia / AMC Squad

Go To

  • Acting for Two: In the final approach to Le Sang's fortress in Egypt, Le Sang will taunt any character who approaches, earning a response from said character. In Le Sang's exchange with Rusty Nails, MajorTom2417 voices both characters, with a British accent (Le Sang) and a generic American South accent (Rusty), respectively.
  • Creator Backlash: Very mild example, but MajorTom2417 isn't particularly proud of his attempt at an Australian accent for the character of Gabe in Micky Crisp's flashback level.
  • Exiled from Continuity:
    • An entire character, complete with dialogue, was removed between the original two-episode version (back when the project was The AMC TC) and the completion of Episode 3. Said character (who, due to the VA leaving the project, will remain unnamed) had dialogue with James Stanfield and fought alongside him in at least two levels (For Providence in Episode 1 and James's first level on Mars in Episode 2). Sang was picked to take the character's place in For Providence, and James handled his portions of the Mars levels by himself. The removed character's biography slot in the internal database, viewable from in-game computers, remains blank.
    • The character slot was initially filled with a generic Earth Attack Force soldier and canned dialogue, but that version was later cut in favor of including Bombshell from Alien Armageddon. Unlike the previous character, the generic soldier didn't even get a bio in the internal database
  • Fake Nationality:
    • Geoffrey (from the Netherlands, in real life) is voiced by the British Eddie Teach.
    • Played with in the case of Rusty Nails; his original voice actor (whose username on the AMC forums was, indeed, Rusty Nails) was Swedish, but MajorTom2417 is American. This is alluded to in the game proper by mentioning that Rusty is the son of a Swedish immigrant living in Texas.
    • The evil warlock Le Sang speaks with a British accent based on the voice of the late John Hurt, but is, again, voiced by the American MajorTom2417.
    • Again, the American MajorTom2417 provided an Australian accent for the flashback character Gabe...though he isn't too happy about how that one turned out.
  • In Memoriam:
    • MajorTom2417's performance as Le Sang is dedicated in the credits to the late Sir John Hurt, whose performance as The War Doctor inspired the voice of Le Sang.
    • After the summer of 2019, all editions of the AMC Squad to release contained a special post-credits memorial to the late Cedric Lutes, aka Zaxtor Znort, who'd passed away in late June of that year.
  • The Other Darrin: Highwire, Rusty Nails and Geoffrey all drifted away from the project, requiring their characters to be recast with Steb, MajorTom2417 and Eddie Teach, respectively.
  • Word of Gay: According to the project leader, Bombshell is queer, Jane Ashford is bisexual, and Snowfall is gay.
