"Hey, we're the Skyline Gang, and we're here to have some fun!"
The Skyline Gang is a series of live musical shows performed at Butlin's holiday resorts in the United Kingdom much like Parkdean Resort's StarlandKrew. These shows involve the eponymous Skyline Gang, a group of people in brightly coloured overalls who go on adventures together (and sing songs that will most likely never leave your head.) Each one has their own signature colour to go with their personality.
The current iteration of the gang includes:
- Dude (blue) - The Leader of the Skyline Gang. He likes playing basketball.
- Sprout (green) - The Plucky Comic Relief. Frequently tells terrible jokes.
- Mimi (yellow) - The Fashionista. Dreams of making it big in Hollywood.
- Pip (purple) - The Rock Star.
- Candi (pink) - The Girly Girl and a big fan of anything cute. Very much a Kid-Appeal Character.
- Bud (red) – Originally a Totally Radical skater, before being retooled in 2016 to become The Smart Guy.
- Rainbow (orange) – Introduced in 2009. The gang's Team Pet, a big orange dog.
- Misty (grey) – Introduced in 2014 as an Evil Counterpart to Candi (although she's Not Evil, Just Misunderstood). Likes playing tricks on the gang with varying degrees of success.
Hey, we're the Skyline Gang, and we're here to add some tropes!
- Air Guitar: Pip will play the air guitar at some point at least once per show.
- Cowardly Lion: The gang meet a literal one of these while on safari and convince him not to be afraid of everything.
- Easily Forgiven: The gang are quick to forgive Misty for her actions.
- Full-Name Ultimatum: Happens in On Safari. After Rainbow says that he's found poop twice, he's called "Rainbow Fourpaws" due to his actions. It's unknown what Rainbow's middle name is.
- Hoist by His Own Petard: The ending of 'Rumble in the Jungle', with Misty being caught by the same blue gorilla that she was trying to steal.
- Only Known by Their Nickname: Inverted with 'Misty the Mischief'. Only she calls herself that.
- Pantomime Animal: Rainbow is portrayed by an actor in a full-body dog costume walking on all fours. This applies to other animal characters too, such as the majority of animals from 'On Safari'.
- Toilet Humour: The entire dung beetle scene in ‘On Safari’.
- Trademark Favourite Food: All the gang have their own, as revealed in ‘Rumble in the Jungle’.
- Vitriolic Best Buds: Misty and Sprout. In 'On Safari', Mimi casually asks if they're going to quarrel again.
- You Don't Look Like You: In 2016, Bud received a redesign which changed him from Totally Radical to The Smart Guy. In 'It's Magic' the show starts off with his old appearance before Mimi gives him a makeover.
