Crossovers
- Code Prime: Near the end of R1, Schneizel sells out to the Decepticons when they betray and conquer Britannia, helping them do it and being rewarded by being placed in a position of high authority in the new regime. He justifies this by claiming that freedom is the cause of all of humanity's woes, and that living under Megatron's heel will at least make all people equal.
- Equestrylvania: One of the main villains of the second arc is Rose Blade, the leader of a group of Royal Guard survivors in monster-occupied Canterlot. He convinces his followers to agree to serve Dracula in exchange for supplies and protection, even going so far as to hand over Princess Cadence. And if any of his followers protest or try to leave, he has them killed and their corpses put on display.
- Fall of Liberty: A man who had recently been bitten and had been hiding his wound shows it to an attacking Bolter in hopes that it will recognize him as an ally and spare his life. It doesn't work.
- Halloween Unspectacular: During the second Myth Arc, President Fulton sells out to PURITY and allows them to take over America, due to sharing in their Fantastic Racism and seeing them as a way to secure and increase his own power. When PURITY is brought down at the end of the arc, Fulton is arrested and put on trial for war crimes.
- Infinity Crisis: In the tie-in sequel, Cult of the Daleks, the Daleks are invading The Multiverse and have installed the League of Skaro as this, led by a version of Maximus the Mad. They all happily accept to be a part of the bad ol' pepperpots plans of conquest and extermination and recognize them as their masters just to get back at their enemies. Chloé Bourgeois doesn't even have any problem in throwing a little Nazi salute when joining them.
- Percy Jackson: Spirits:
- Some dark spirits willingly joined Vaatu's side, like Chelamma, Koh, Amarok, and Wan Shi Tong.
- Some of the corrupt members of the Council of Elders openly support Unalaq's coup in the Southern Tribe, although some of them only join after he murders those that oppose him.
- A Moth to a Flame: The premise of this AU is that, rather than being an Unwitting Pawn of Andrias and the Core, Marcy is manipulated through More than Mind Control to view their plans for multiversal conquest as a good thing, with them specifically promising her control of Earth afterwards.
- You’re About Seven Years Too Early: Defied when Bog's agents attempt to bribe Mayor Toadstool into letting them take over Wartwood, only to be rejected.
- Towards the Sun: Iroh is seen as a traitor to the Fire Nation due to his collaboration with the White Lotus and the Avatar, and for championing their respective agendas without considering what kind of negative impact that might have upon his homeland.
- Code Geass Megiddo has the High Eunuchs, who sold out China to Britannia and set up a young girl as their Puppet King. Even Calares regards them as nothing more than selfish jerkasses who betrayed their own people the second they got the chance in order to save their own skins, and who have been exploiting the occupation to live hedonistically while the rest of China suffers.
- A Cold Calculus features varying shades of these among the Japanese dealing with the occupying Britannian forces:
- The NAC openly embraces the Honorary Britannian system; however, many members are actually putting on a front, publicly supporting Britannia in order to protect themselves while secretly supporting the Japanese resistance movements.
- Other individuals sign up to become Honorary Britannians of their own free will, like Suzaku and Mikasa, who are both portrayed as having sympathetic reasons for their decisions.
- In the Power Girl fanfic A Force of Four, Aldon Persis is a sorcerer that sides with Badra and her Kryptonian pawns who intend to destroy Earth. Wonder Woman's daughter Fury calls him "their little Quisling".
- Gaz Dreams of Genie: In the Villain World created by Gaz accidentally using her first wish to make it so Dib was never born, thereby resulting in Zim conquering the world, Professor Membrane is a collaborator for the Irkens. As he explains it, he was so disappointed in the fact that his "superior" genes could only produce a child who's an apathetic video game junkie that he lost faith in humanity. So he agreed to work with the Irkens in exchange for access to cloning technology that would let him create his ideal offspring.
- In Dead Man Switch, there are humans willingly working for the Lorwardians, including Vinnie and Junior. They kidnap teenage girls, rape them, and ship them to Lorwardia to be tortured and publicly executed.
My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic
- The PER (Ponification for Earth's Rebirth) are this at large mixed with Les Collaborateurs in any The Conversion Bureau story.
- In The Conversion Bureau: The Other Side of the Spectrum, a misanthropic doctor named Jacqueline Reitman willingly served earth up on a silver platter to the Solar Tyrant by first pushing for the ponification serum to be used by the public, and then founded the PER, who are little more than Evil Luddites that make the Human Liberation Front look downright appealing. She was eventually arrested and placed on Death Row for her crimes against humanity, and other than a few token attempts to rescue her from police custody by some PER cells, the Solar Empire hasn't gone out of its way to save her, making it very clear she isn't anywhere near as important to Queen Celestia as she likes to think herself to be.
- Mirror!Spitfire from The Dark Side of the Mirror Verse is this, having sold out her own city to Celestia and joined her, resulting in Cloudsdale being destroyed. Of course Spitfire was a nasty piece of work to begin with.
- In the Pony POV Series, General Lone Ranger is this. He willingly worked with the Changelings to set the groundwork for their invasion. Played with in that he was intending to instigate a Guilt-Free Extermination War on them for his own reasons. It didn't work out how he thought it would.
- Androgyninja's A Drop of Poison: Gato's iron grip over Tazuna's village is reinforced by several of their own defecting to his side. Among those who've thrown their support behind him is Shota, a cousin of Tsunami who attempts to convince her to support him, to no avail. Ultimately, he's rewarded for his betrayal with a Slashed Throat, making him one of Sakura's first kills.
- The First Saniwa: Minamoto no Yorichika, head of the Minamoto clan when the story takes place (unclear whether self-appointed or not) who leads his clan to side with the Time Retrograde Army when they turn the Genji premise into their base of operations and help them hunt down his own half-brother in exchange for his clan's honor. Truly a guy who cares for his clan as much as he claims to.
- True Potential: During the Third Shinobi War, Kakuzu saved Zagi's life. Years later, he cashes in that favor by forcing Zagi, now the Jōnin Commander of Takigakure, to help Kakuzu and Suien invade his own village, making him a reluctant traitor who hopes that Shibuki and the rest of Taki's defenders will be able to kill him.
- Tarkin's Fist: King William V of the United Kingdom is an extremely reluctant version of this. Specially targeted for extended bombardment, what remains of the British government surrenders to the New Empire to avoid further destruction. The Empire, however, has no interest in working with a British Prime Minister who was willing to sell out his own, and are even less interested in a monarch who is a ceremonial figurehead. The Imperial solution is to get rid of the acting Prime Minister, dissolve Parliament, and make William the Moff of the new United Protectorate of Great Britain. William begrudgingly accepts the situation out of fear of the Empire completely annihilating Britain in retaliation for further resistance. A rebellion, led by Prince Harry, pops up almost instantly. William manages to redeem himself in the eyes of Earth history by killing Imperial Grand Admiral Yutu in a suicide attack after the end of the Empire-Earth War.
- Ripples: When Civil War breaks out in Meridian following the events of the Darkest Winter Night, Sister Hestine leads a faction of Meridian's Sisterhood Covens in pledging loyalty to Phobos' new regime. As such, she is granted the position of Grand Abbess, even as the rest of the Sisterhood is slowly purged from existence.
