Per troping policy, all spoilers are unmarked. You Have Been Warned!
While the show itself leans firmly into Affectionate Parody territory, it's far from incapable of pulling off emotional moments in itself.
Oscar/Ozpin
- What Oscar REALLY Thinks of Being Alone:
- In the first part of the video, Oscar's snarky thoughts betray how lonely and awkward he feels around Team RWBY as himself since most of them barring Ruby and Maria don't see him as much more than Ozpin's host and are at the time avoiding talking to him.Oscar (Thoughts): Oh yeah, no one talk to Oscar. Don't even acknowledge him since he got his body taken over by some stupid wizard! Who knew being the chosen one could be so damn lonely...
- Things don't improve much for him from there in Argus, especially once Team JNR learns about Salem being unkillable.Oscar (Thoughts): (sounding tearful) Oh, yeah. No one ask how Oscar's feeling. No one ask if the kid getting slammed into walls is doing okay. I see how it is...
- The scene where Oscar is genuinely considering ditching the adventure entirely really indicate how much Volume 6 has gotten to Oscar. He may be the Chosen One, but he's still just a kid forcibly thrust into a battle with seemingly no end, where the reason he was dragged along caused everyone to blame him for the dire situation they found themselves in. Luckily, a certain past life of Ozma's was having none of that.

- What Oscar REALLY Thinks of Getting Shot:
- Before Ironwood rescinds his friendship with him and Ozpin, Oscar laments how far he's fallen, and points out that by this point, Ironwood has no friends left to fight on his side (and seeing how in the canon show, Teams RWBY and JN_R, as well as Pietro and Penny have turned their backs on him, his relationship with Qrow has strained into outright hatred on Qrow's end, Clover is dead, and the Ace Ops and Winter are incapacitated), Oscar is entirely right.
- And once Ironwood shoots Oscar, he isn't angry, sad, or even surprised. He just sounds... disappointed in him.Oscar (Thoughts): Et tu, James? Then fall, Ozpin...
Weiss
- What Detective Weiss REALLY Thinks:
- Weiss' talk with Willow results in some unexpectedly heavy self-reflection and bottled-up emotional reactions about Willow; as stated in her thoughts, she's understandably pissed that Willow didn't act on much else besides setting up surveillance around the mansion to log Jacques' abuse and misdeeds, yet sadly empathetic of how much Willow was as trapped by circumstance as her and Winter. Her following Jerkass Realization about Whitley also doesn't help matters, especially after she'd been dismissive of him when she and the main teams arrived at the party:Weiss (Thoughts): I guess I did have Winter, and I had Klein... Perhaps I really wasn't the loneliest Schnee after all.

Qrow
- What Qrow REALLY Thinks
- The scene where Qrow visit a Huntress' home, only to be greeted by a child wondering if he knew where her mother is was already sobering in the base show. But it's taken up to eleven here, when Qrow recalls Ruby asking basically the exact same thing about Summer.Qrow (Thoughts): Alright. So rough life beats rough day. Good to know.

- What Qrow REALLY Thinks of Clover 3
- While Qrow spends most of the video being understandably annoyed at Clover for obeying Ironwood's questionable orders, once Clover's Aura is broken, Qrow can only lament how Clover failed to bring compassion to the Atlas Military and instead became just another cog in the system.
- What Qrow REALLY Thinks of Robyn 2
- Qrow apologizing to Clover for Vine's death, noting how he would not have wished for him teammates to die. Qrow is able to at least take solace in the bomb issue to be resolved, though.
- While we don't get to hear Qrow being unable to contact Ruby and Yang as Atlas falls in the base show, we do here. And he just breaks. The black and white filter even gets bumped up further, highlighting this as Qrow's lowest moment by far.Qrow (Thoughts): Is this my destiny? To be the one left behind to remember them?
