As a Moments subpage, all spoilers are unmarked as per policy. You Have Been Warned.

The premise of a nuzlocke always promises sad moments, and despite the increased joviality, this one is no exception.

    Season One
STREAM 3
  • Losing Tracey hits everyone extremely hard, especially to the fire gym after bantering the whole time that Tracey was unstoppable as a water type. No team member isn't affected by the death and even more humorous characters like Kenny drop the humor for just a sheer sense of horror and sadness. Not one other person has a single bad thing to say about her, and the loss of his strongest Pokémon cast doubt upon the reality of completing the run, it is one of the lowest moments for the group, especially when Claire finds out.

    Season Two

STREAM 3

  • The battle against Clay quickly turns from a regular Gym battle into a brutal massacre. Derek went into the gym without grinding, in spite of CHURMY practically begging him not to, and he paid the price, suffering a wipe almost as bad as the Steven battle that set the tone for the rest of Season 2. Some of the most beloved members, such as Mal, Gabi, THE LARK, and CHURMY, were slain by the Excadrill, and even though Sauerkraut was able to beat the Excadrill, they were later struck down by Palpitoad. Salty and the Pokémon that were in the box were absolutely devastated. Overconfidence isn't always a slow killer...

STREAM 4

  • After finally defeating Clay, the team was very happy. But towards the end of Chargestone Cave, Joe the Lampent was killed by a Plasma Grunt's Liepard, shifting the tone drastically. Even worse was that Derek saw the mistake and was about to switch out, only for the Liepard to use Pursuit and kill Joe before he could.

STREAM 7

  • While the loss of Callin and Onee definitely hurts, most of Coach Cos' "recon" to the Elite Four is absolutely this. With her speech beforehand effectively being a thinly-veiled suicide note, not at all helped by her last words only being "I'm sorry" twice... It says something when practically ALL of chat was begging either for her to reconsider or for Derek to stop her.

STREAM 8

    Friendlocke Violet
STREAM 2
  • The death of Lark immediately after evolving is not only the earliest death in the entire series, but occurs out of nowhere from a horrific streak of bad luck while the gang is attempting to catch Mykyie. The early loss of another starter nearly results in Derek having a Heroic BSoD while Mykyie is found crying profusely as soon as he is caught.

STREAM 5

  • The death of Mykyie establishes a trend of unexpected deaths taking place near important milestones, with one of the most powerful members of the group being killed by a optional trainer's Greedent using Counter just a single level away from evolving.

STREAM 7

  • Despite a lot of careful planning from Gerber and Luke as to how to kill Nemona's Skeledirge, their gambit resulted in the latter's death due to Skeledirge surviving a STAB Tera-boosted Lumina Crash, which the team takes very poorly, Gerber especially, who states that he wishes he took the hit instead.
