  • The very fact that Alya and Marinette's friendship is sundered by Alya deciding to put 'a big scoop' for her Ladyblog over being honest and respecting Ladybug's feelings. Class-y Opinions effectively shows her taking a sledgehammer to Marinette's regard, arguing that Ladybug doesn't deserve to be treated with respect because she's in the public eye.
  • While Trixx and Pollen don't seem particularly fazed by having new bearers in Luka and Kagami, Protecting Feelings shows that Wayzz is having a harder time adjusting. Having to leave Fu behind clearly hits him hard.
    • In A Casual Encounter, Ivan meets Fu while he's out shopping for tea. Though he's unaware of the old man's identity, Fu clearly draws comfort from seeing how Ivan is going out of his way to care for Wayzz, and gives him a box full of handmade tea. Wayzz nearly bursts into tears when he sees it, cradling one of the bags as he admits that "This is my favorite."
  • The process of Nino's Heel Realization and everything that follows it over the course of Lie Gone Wrong, Two-for-One Deal, Akuma Apology and Seat the Beat. Once it becomes clear to him that Lila is absolutely a Consummate Liar, he's horrified not just by the realization that they'd been manipulated into hurting Marinette, but by Alya insisting that Marinette is still in the wrong. This leads to him breaking it off with Alya.
    • Two-for-One Deal then lives up to its name as he learns that Adrien knew about Lila and didn't tell anyone because he didn't want to hurt Lila's feelings:
Nino: Hurt— Hurt her? What about everyone else?! What about... What about me?
      Adrien: N-Nino—
Nino: Lila promised me so much! She lied about all of it so I'd think she's cool! And you... you let her? Man, I'm hurt! I'm hurt that I've been living in this messed up lie ever since Lila came back to school and my best friend didn't have my back!
Adrien: I-I did! Nino, the crowd—
Nino: Oh, is that what this is all about? You were afraid no one would believe you? Afraid to ruin the image you'd set up for yourself? You'd rather just leave Marinette to— [freezes in realization] ...You let Marinette handle it all on her own.
    • In essence, while Alya, Adrien and Lila all bring about their own Laser-Guided Karma through their own actions and refusal to acknowledge that the feelings of others are valid, Nino pays a high price for siding with his girlfriend... followed by losing her and his best friend after he learns the truth. At least Ladybug saves him from being akumatized for it, and his willingness to admit his mistakes gives him a chance to repair his friendships with Marinette and other classmates, even if he'll never be Carapace again.
  • Losing Favor marks the moment that Alya is no longer able to deny that she backed a Bitch in Sheep's Clothing. Her reputation is completely in the toilet by this point, and the Ladyblog isn't doing much better... and neither are Lila or Adrien, now that she's been exposed as a liar and everyone knows that Adrien already knew and said nothing. Yet rather than sticking together, Lila makes clear to Adrien (and an eavesdropping Alya) that she doesn't care about her one whit. As she puts it, "You don't just associate with people who won't help you get up in the ranks." And with how she's fallen from grace, Alya no longer qualifies as useful anymore.
  • During Blocked Connection, we get a good look at Ivan's insecurities, as he mistakenly thinks that Ladybug is leaving him as a distraction for Lady Wifi, rather than trusting him to carry the fight home. What's worse is that he doesn't blame her for it, figuring that out of the gathered heroes, he's simply the least valuable.
  • Plagg's situation, as he's unable to prevent Adrien's entitlement-driven self-sabotage, and in Fu Takes Charge is forced to admit how much he was hurt by the stunt his bearer pulled in "Syren".
    • In Bad Luck Turned Good, he's uncharacteristically quiet when meeting his new bearer.
  • Self-Destruction is well-named, as Adrien reaches his lowest point — and having to deal with his father coldly revealing that he was well aware of him sneaking out all the time and giving him a replacement ring for the sake of maintaining a consistent image only drives him further down. Made all the worse by the strong implications that Gabriel just realized that his son was Chat Noir, and gives him the ring so he can akumatize him.
  • In order to take down Catastrophe, a distraction is needed, and Neurofoxin comes up with one: a Mirage of a white-cloaked Emilie Agreste.
    • Followed by the Miraculous Team working together to help ensure some privacy for the akuma victim, so that the world doesn't learn that Adrien was Chat Noir and punish him for it.
