     Chapter 2: Hamon, Zombies, Grandpa?!
  • Trish's description of Jonathan:
His body was sculpted in unimaginable ways, but his face, his lightly scratched cheeks, the slightly parted lips, the gentle pull of his brow scrunching ever so often, it just screamed "He's only a boy who was forced into growing up".
  • Younger Joseph's outburst over the fact that Jonathan is alive, but he can't meet him right at the moment:
"You call me selfish? How dare you! Is it really selfish of me for wanting to see the grandfather I never got to meet?! The grandfather who passed on his ability to me, the grandfather who fought to hell and back to save innocent people, the grandfather who sacrificed himself to save my granny?! I can't even begin to understand how he's here, sleeping, breathing, alive. I just want to talk to him, I want to see that he's okay with my own damn eyes. And you're denying me that?! Who the hell do you think you are?! In case you've forgotten, he's your grandfather as well. If you were really a Joestar, if you were really me, you'd understand that! But apparently you don't, so do me a favor and don't poke your goddamn nose where it doesn't belong, you oaf!"
  • Speedwagon's short speech to Jonathan as the latter sleeps due to exhaustion from the battles of the previous chapter:
"Jojo... Mr. Joestar... I... I don't know what horrible fate you meet in the future, but whatever it is, just know I'll always be by your side."
     Chapter 3: Grandson Troubles
  • Younger Joseph getting to meet Jonathan for the first time:
Joseph's mind went blank. How should one approach this situation? Should he calmly and rationally explain the situation, jump the gun and tackle Jonathan into a bone crushing hug, or call in Speedwagon?

Jonathan frowned slightly, worry filling his blue orbs as the seconds ticked by and the stranger wouldn't utter a word. "Young fellow? Are you alright-" And as soon as he spoke, the words were cut off by a screaming teenager throwing himself at him, ensaring him in a tight hug.

"Holy shit, grandpa!" The teen yelled, as Jonathan let out a small "Oof!", taken aback completely.
     Chapter 5: A Gang-Star's Dream
  • Jonathan filling Giorno in on his past, and the reason behind his outburst in the previous chapter:
"Oh? I assume you must be well off."

At that, Jonathan sighed a little, "I... My father, he was wealthy, he was always able to provide me with everything I could ever want. But I would trade any riches to my name in favor of seeing him again. I miss him dearly."

Well, all Giorno wanted now was to slap himself.

    "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know."

But Jonathan only smiled gently, "It's alright, please do not worry yourself."

A beat of silence, and then...

"If I may ask, how did he...?" He trailed off, but Jonathan caught on quick enough.

"My half-brother tried to stab me, but father got in the way and took the blow for me. He... died in my arms." At this, the handle of the pan he was holding suddenly bent under his grasp, his fingers were curling tightly around it. "Dio... you have taken so much from me..." Jonathan whispered hoarsely, his voice was trembling and silent tears were beginning to collect in his eyes. In an uncharacteristic move, he tossed the object to the side, not caring for trying to fix it.
Chapter 7: Styling Adventures And Striking Blues
  • Josuke's anger at learning that Joseph abandoned his mother:
"You... you bastard." His teeth unclenched, but veins were starting to contract against his forehead. "How dare you?"

The Joestar took a breath. "I-I'm sorry-"

"Don't apologize now!" A pink aura was starting to envelop him, spiking around him. "Do you have any idea how much my mom suffered because of you? How many sacrifices she's made to support me because you abandoned her?!" In a flash, Crazy Diamond unconsciously manifested behind him.
Chapter 8: Stars In The Sky
  • During Johnny's fight with a Brainwashed and Crazy Gyro, the jockey desperately attempts to snap his friend out of the trance:
Johnny: Please... try! Sing those stupid songs and make those awful jokes, like you used to...
    Johnny: (saddened) G... Gyro...
  • Jotaro delivers a short but brutal "The Reason You Suck" Speech to Jonathan, mistakenly believing him to be the reason why Dio survived.
"I was just a normal high school student, living my life peacefully until Dio awoke our Stands, and my world was flipped to shit and back. Why the fuck did I need to finish what you started? It wasn't my fault Dio made your life a living hell and turned into a vampire using your mom's mask."

    ...Was he crying?

Jotaro looked at him, directly in the eyes. He spat the next words with venom:

    "It's all your fucking fault."
     Chapter 9: B-B-Baby!
  • A younger Jonathan innocently revealing his status to everyone else.
Jonathan looked at the sky again, leaning back into Josuke's chest. "I have always played on my own... but that's okay, because I have Danny now." He grinned, looking down at his lap so the hat would slip over his eyes, covering the tiny tears that were starting to appear.
     Chapter 10: Over Heaven
  • During the scene where Heaven Ascension Dio finally appears in person:
Jonathan growled, Hamon starting to charge between his fingers. "End this at once, Dio! Was acquiring the Stone Mask and turning into a creature of the night not enough for you?! Was ruining my life and killing Danny, father, all those innocent people, and myself not enough for you?! Your fight began solely with me, why did you have to drag in my family as well?!" His powerful voice cracked as he spoke of the people behind him, tears threatening to spill over as he envisioned what Dio was capable of doing to them.
     Chapter 11: Tea Time
  • Lisa Lisa finally being able to thank Jonathan for saving her life all those years ago.
For the first time in a very long time, she sported a small, barely visible, genuine smile, "Thank you, Jonathan Joestar."

Lisa Lisa pretended not to see the Joestar's frame tremble slightly. Indeed, Erina was right about one thing over all.

This man had a heart of gold.

Chapter 12: Confessions With Strings Attached
  • Jolyne opens up to Jonathan about her issues regarding Jotaro:
"He wasn't there." Her tone, unlike other times when she spoke of this to her mom, was soft. "He was always working, always on his business trips. One time I got really sick when I was a kid and he never showed up, it was that way until I got sent to prison."

Jonathan's eyebrows scrunched together, anger starting to tug inside his stomach at the thought of a young Jolyne, bedridden, crying, sick, waiting for Jotaro, for her father, but he never showed up.

She continued. "I wanted to hate him, I really did, but deep down I just wanted his love, his approval. It wasn't until I got a Stand, and he was attacked by one, that I understood everything."
Chapter 14: Identity And Twisted Beginnings
  • As Giorno and Jonathan enter George's bedroom, Jonathan is overcome with memories:
He suddenly remembered how he would scurry inside as a child during particularly strong storms and rainy weather, how he would hide under the giant bed when playing hide and seek with the servants, how he would wake up extra early to drag his father out of sleep to celebrate holidays and special occasions, how-

He almost stumbled back as tears started to fall down his cheeks, and he registered the fact Giorno was hugging him tightly, and with shaky hands he returned the gesture.

After a few moments, Giorno pulled back. "I'm sorry, padre."

Jonathan just ruffled his hair with a watery smile. "It's alright, do not worry."
Chapter 15: Family Ties Across Time
  • Josuke 8's confession to Jonathan about his predicament:
He followed Jonathan's lead and let himself fall back, knowing the giant next to him was trying not to choke on the words Gappy was saying, "I don't know who I am, this name, 'Josuke', was just given to me by the girl that found me, I found it one of the people is the descendant of Johnny, Kira, but I don't know who the other one is."

His eyes drifted across the twinkling lights, unable to stop himself from talking, "I can't stop thinking about it, and I can't help but notice all these people will family, with family pictures, and I realize that I'll never have that, or have people that care about them. I care about Yasuho and I think she cares about me, but I want to know what it's like to have someone related to me. But that won't ever happen, I shouldn't exist, the family I want isn't related to me, they're Kira's family and whoever else I am, they're not mine. That's why I say you'd be Kira's ancestor, Johnny would be his ancestor, not mine, because I'm not them, but at the same time they're me, and it's all a fucking mess that I can't wrap my head around!"
    • Before that, we get this:
(After Gappy rejects his offer to join his family) "I am sorry, Josuke..." He sighed, making Gappy's head snap up to look at him, his tone was regretful. "Sometimes I really do not think things through properly, I understand if you would not like it-"

"I do! That's the problem!" The sailor gripped his short hair, curling in on himself slightly. "I actually like the idea, I want to be someone's family, I want to belong somewhere, but at the same time... I don't understand how you can suggest it so easily! How does it not bother you welcoming a total stranger into your life?!"
    • Followed by Jonathan accepting him into his family:
"I do not know much about you, but I can tell you are a good person with a kind heart. You're here, helping us fight, you helped Joseph locate that Stand user to return me to normal, you have no reason to do so, but you did. You exist for a reason, you matter to others, and before you can argue on that, you matter to me. We have barely spoken before this, but the moment I found out you are a Joestar, I had already made a special place in my heart for you, right next to my descendants. If you want a family... I will be your family, Josuke!"
  • At the very end of the chapter, Jonathan has a heart-to-heart with Danny at his grave:
Despite his best efforts, a single tear slid down his cheek, and his voice cracked. "I hope we can meet again someday, Danny. take care of father for me..."
     Chapter 16: Showdown In Cairo
  • Jonathan being snapped out of Heaven Ascension Dio's mind-control by the encouraging words of his family.
Chapter 17: The Paths We Choose
  • George's heartfelt parting words to his son:
"Go on now, JoJo. I promise to take good care of Danny here, and do not let sorrow consume your heart, for one day... we will meet again."
     Chapter 18: Our Bloodline
  • In a role reversal from the previous fight, Jonathan has to snap Jotaro out of Heaven Ascension Dio's powers:
"I'm incredibly proud of you, Jotaro! "Somehow I know you haven't heard this much, or have believed it, but it couldn't be anything else than true! I am so happy and honored to be your ancestor, I feel truly blessed to have you and the others as my family! Despite the language, I think you are a wonderful young man with incredible wits and strength, who would protect those he cares about at any costs, I'm proud to say I am related to you. You are my descendant, and nothing will ever change the fact that you are my family!"
  • After Dio is defeated, everyone is sent back to their original time. But in an aversion of Ripple-Effect-Proof Memory, Jonathan forgets everything that had happened over the course of the story. However, once he gets a look at the photos that were taken over the course of the adventure, he remembers, and promptly breaks down.
He was panting, knees and hands deep in the mud, photos scattered below him. Tears were streaming down his cheeks and onto the grass now, his shoulders and chest heaved.

He cried and sobbed for the descendants he lost, for the descendants he would never meet again. For the fact he forgot them, he knew they forgot him, for the friends he made along the way that he'll never see either, for father, Danny, for all the souls that had fallen under Dio that he couldn't save, he cried and cried and cried.
Chapter 19: Nice To Meet You, Again
  • Jonathan's reunion with his father, who is now alive thanks to Dio's death.
  • Jonathan talking about his first night back in his time:
"I have missed you and the others terribly these past few days... I even arranged our photos into an album and ended up crying myself to sleep with it on the first night of my return..."

"That's..." Jotaro blinked. "Really depressing, but yeah, I get you..." He looked to the side, coughing a bit. "I uh... missed you too... don't tell anyone I said that."
  • Jotaro reveals to Jonathan that he's suffered quite a bit emotionally from the events of Part 3:
"It's... It's hard, gramps... I know I seem like an uncaring, emotionless bastard, but all of this has affected me so badly. I don't even know where to begin. The nightmares are the worst, cause I can pretend nothing happened during the day, I can pretend everything's normal and everything's fine, but I can't do that when I sleep, and I can't tell anyone about the new ones because nobody fucking remembers."
