  • Anatomy of Anime:
    • In Vegeta: Perfecting an Anti-Hero:
      • Spawn appears briefly as Mark discusses what is an Anti-Hero.
      • Mark has Peter Russel and Jack Perez from the Youtube channel Film Courage explain what an antihero is, and in turn Russel cites Marko Corlione and Tony Soprano as characters who became bad for a good reason.
      • Mark uses a clip from Extra Credits to explain what an anti-hero is.
      • Mark cites H.Eric Bender from Psychology Today, "Anti-heroes liberate us. They reject social constraints and expectations imposed upon us. Anti-heroes give our grievances a voice. They make us feel like something right is being done, even if its legally wrong. Anti-heroes do things we're afraid to do. They are who they are and they do as they want - without apology."
    • In Piccolo: The Humillated Character,
      • Mark discusses how any sideman to Goku is replaced until Vegeta became the permanent one, the video shows a scene from Fight Counselling.
    • In Jiren: The Terrible Antagonist:
      • Marks uses Super Eyepatch Wolf’s video of "What makes a villain feel real?" as a point of reference.
      • Mark quotes Alfred Hitchcock’s famous example regarding suspense with the bomb under the table, saying how Your Name uses it quite masterfully.
    • In Zamasu: Turning Characters Evil:
      • Mark personifies the viewers as Ace Attorney as they ask a hypothetical question.
      • Walter White from Breaking Bad, Harvey Dent from The Dark Knight and Norman Osborn from Spider-Man are used as characters with a Negative Character Arc.
      • Mark quotes A Song of Ice and Fire author George R. R. Martin, "The internal struggle within a character's mind and moral are where the true wonder of complex character writing is found." and then shows the author speaking through a live audience.
      • While arguing that Future Trunks and Zamasu could had a better contrast, Mark compares it with Miles Morales and Peter B. Parker from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in how both characters complemented each other.
      • Marks argues that Trunks wasn't build to contrast with Zamasu despite having the potential for it. He then cites Harry Osborn and Peter Parker's relationship in Spiderman 3 as a good comparison on this could have be made.
    • In Moro: The Troubled Chapters:
      • Mark cites Dragon Ball Z Abridged joke from The Return of Cooler of "punching really hard" at opponents while discussing the problem in the franchise regarding, well, punching really hard at opponents at the cost of creativity.
      • As Mark’s talks of Moro avoiding the recurring villain stupidity of not having his cards left in check, the video shows the iconic panel from Watchmen of Ozymandias telling the heroes his plan was done 30 minutes ago.
      • As a good example of writing tension that leaves the audience wondering what could come next, Mark states that Attack on Titan basement key is an excellent example of this.
      • During a mention of the side cast involving Piccolo, Gohan and Tenshinhan, the editor used a Photoshop picture of Hero from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate to represent Gohan.
    • In Fixing Dragon Ball Super terrible artwork, the artists in charge of redrawing the keyframes are framed in a Mega Man X character select screen with the same sounds effects and music.
    • In Super Dragon Ball Heroes Review, "And that's where Grand Priest Goku shows up to the battlefield like Thor in Infinity War."
