- Francesca's debut had Xavier coming at the bars of "New York, New York!"
- During the September 7, 2015 edition of Raw, Woods performed the victory fanfare for Final Fantasy on his trombone in a promo that featured Seth Rollins, Edge and Christian, and The Dudley Boys.
- On an episode of Smackdown in 2015 as heels, the trio post-match sang "Hey we want some New Day". Despite the reference being not PG, the majority of the audience likely didn't get it.
- Xavier Woods has made reference to WWE 2K16 and the Street Fighter series.

- The New Day's... Unicorns. Xavier Woods has stated he was a brony and has paid several homages to this:

- Booty-Os became their catchphrase as heels, with getting cheers as faces later on despite being heels at this time.
- In their Royal Rumble 2016 match against the Usos, Kofi shouted at them, "Your brother's soul is mine! You will be next!"
- Their WrestleMania 32 entrance had them coming out of a giant box of "Booty-Os" cereal in Saiyan Armor. In addition:

- In Spring 2021, Kofi and Xavier's outfits resemble the Green and White Ranger.
