- There are various icons and keys throughout the Water World that emulate the Sony Playstation and Sega Dreamcast logos.
- The portals to each new dream world are identical to the warp orbs shown in Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped.
- As Gogi explores the Ethereal Crux area, the iconic Enemy Alert status used in Metal Gear Solid will pop up in the top right corner.
- There are two references to Vinesauce in the game; in the Candy King's castle is a pile of trash, and upon inspection a friendly worm NPC called "Meat" pops out. And in an out of the way section of the Mushroom World is a small house, where a lone green mushroom man silently plays his guitar, a nod to Vinny himself.
- Heckler's design and appearance is a nod to the Lethal Lava Land Bullies in Super Mario 64.
- A strange red rectangle can be found in the Haunted/Fog World, and the Dreamer remarks upon touching that it feels like someone's groping around inside their skull, a clear reference to Silent Hill 2.
- Amnesia: The Dark Descent is homaged in the Fog World with the elevator ride and jumping on furniture in a flooded basement.
- The hanging body room in the Fog World's basement is a clear shout-out to the removed Karazhan Crypts area from World of Warcraft.
- In the shopping mall arcade, you can see the avatar of Alpha Beta Gamer in a display cabinet, and upstairs there's a store called "Steve's Army Surplus" with Steve's iconic metal tray and a couple American MREs lying around.
- If you walk through a certain wall in the beginning of the Mall World, you'll enter The Backrooms.
- In the food court in the mall, there's a pizza with an "interesting topping" lying on a table. This is a Skittles pizza, which Scorpy (socpens) made for a stream around the time Boundless Dreams was being developed.
- The Mysterious Forest is a beautiful tribute to the Forest Temple level from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
