Because this show is made in China, where the copyright law is not so complete, do not be surprised to see a lot of shout outs to other shows.

  • This show references Case Closed numerous times. It is not suprising since Conan is very popular in China.
    • In one episode when Little M. is changing channels on a TV, a person dressed up as Conan is seen saying "The murderer is you".
    • In one episode in Season 7 where Smart S. has to find the culprit of a theft, the people are displayed above Smart S. with him thinking: "The culprit is one of us."
  • In the episode where Careless S. is finding a Phoenix which Big M. and Little M. are after too, the two hide behind a TV, and Hilarity Ensues... as they pose as Jack and Rose from Titanic (1997).
    Little M. (as Rose): Oh, Jack!
    Big M. (as Jack): Oh, Rose!
    Big M. (as Jack): You jump, I jump!
    • There are two Freeze-Frame Bonus shots referencing Titanic in the episode where they introduce TV to Guling.
    • In Season 7, a brief scene parodying Titanic is shown at a movie theatre.
  • Careless S. played a game similar to Super Mario Bros. in the background.
    • Several Title Sequences involve the typical platformer-game layout.
    • Episode 40 outright uses the signature Super Mario Bros. music for a game the heroes are playing.
  • A lot of different Super Heroes are seen in the show.
    • In the first Title Sequence, Superman, Spider-Man, and Batman are pulled into a phone booth by Happy S.
    • There's an episode where Big M. says something along the lines of "nothing can save those heroes now, not even Superman!" Cue Superman appearing in the background, floating in the air with a balloon tied to his body; Little M. promptly shoots him down.
    • Spider-Man is seen in the background numerous times.
    • In Season 10, when Big M. claimed there's not enough of them in battle, Little M. calls Superman, Spiderman, and Batman (under parodied alias) before being reprimanded by Big M.
    • In Season 12 episode 6, robots wearing Iron Man and The Flash's costumes are briefly seen.
  • Given that the director of this show was also one of the higher-ups on the team creating Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf, there are plenty of shoutouts to that show as well.
    • In Season 6 episode 14, one of the monsters is sent flying by Happy S., and is later shown to have landed in a dark ominous place with Wolf Castle in the background.
      Big-head Monster: He hit me so hard I have no idea what cartoon I've ended up in!
    • At the end of Season 3 episode 21, the monster is launched into the sky and says Wolffy's Defeat Catchphrase of "我一定會回來的!" ("I will be back!").
    • When Big M. and Little M. are wolves in the fairy tale arc, Big M. remarks that he has suddenly developed a fear of frying pans... then he gets hit with a frying pan.
    • When Mr. Lightbulb is trying to introduce television to the citizens of Planet Mystery in Season 6 episode 12, he mentions that one could see shows on it. Aqiang points out that he could do that too, and dresses up as a wolf and says "Dearest sheep, I've arrived!"... Mr. Lightbulb hits him with a frying pan.
  • The Chinese title of episode 8 translates to "Resident Evil" in English.
  • At the end of episode 12, Mr. Lightbulb can be seen holding the original PlayStation controller.
  • Hatsune Miku from Vocaloid appears briefly in at least two episodes:
    • In a Season 7 episode, when it's mentioned that Ambassador Miao does cosplaying, he's shown dressed up as Miku and is using yarn to duplicate the appearance of her hair.
    • In an earlier episode in Season 3, she appears alongside another Vocaloid character, Rin, as customers in a restaurant.
  • In "A World of Bubbles" (S4E49), a robot that looks like Phoenix Wright (he even has a red tie, the blue suit, and spikey hair to boot) can be seen complaining about how Sweet S. stopped him from going to his meeting.
  • In one episode of Season 2, the heroes do a School Play where a princess is turned into a swan by a wizard who appears as an owl.
  • In Season 3 episode 7, as Careful S. is walking outside, a robot dressed as Michael Jackson can be seen moonwalking in the background.
  • The beginning of the Whole Episode Flashback in Season 3 episode 20 shows Doctor H. dressed up as Elvis Presley as he is getting some photos taken of himself.
  • In Season 4 episode 19, Big M. and Little M. pretend to be characters inside a television to evade Careless S.'s suspicion. Careless S. sees them pretending to be Jack and Rose from Titanic (1997) doing the iconic "I'm flying" pose, then he changes the channel and finds them pretending to be Transformers, complete with the 80's cartoon's theme song playing in the background.
  • In the title card for Season 5 episode 26, Big M. and Little M. squirt a robot dressed as Ken from Street Fighter using water guns.
  • In Season 6 episode 21, Smart S. does what looks like the Gangham Style dance to get Careful S.'s attention.
  • In Season 6 episode 43, Big M. and Little M. are seen doing the Gangham Style dance, complete with the music.
  • In an episode in the seventh season, Miss Peach performing in a soap called "Laughing While Making Paste" (笑熬浆糊 in Chinese) is a nod to another popular soap in China called "Laughing in the Wind" (笑傲江湖).
  • In the title card of Season 8 episode 3, Big M. and Little M. attempt to do the Fusion Dance from Dragon Ball Z, to no avail.
  • In Season 8 episode 5, where the Heroes are looking for a magician mentor, a magician holds up a picture of one of his former students - it's Harry Potter.
  • In Season 8 episode 22, Huo Haha reminds Big M. that Happy S. is made of crackers and is finished if either of them eat him. As he says this, there's a visual where Huo is shown as Pac-Man and consumes Happy S. in his cracker form, complete with sounds from the original Pac-Man game accompanying the scene.
  • In Season 8 episode 25, the hairdresser says others call him Edward Scissorhands.
  • In the first episode of Season 9, Miss Peach mentions "Careful S. & Kalo" (小心超人与伽罗) and interviews the producer, an instance where the creators have teased the possibility of a new show. “Careful S. & Kalo” was a long-time rumoured spin-off that most likely became the mini-season Happy Heroes and the City of Mystery.
  • In Season 9, there's a reference and parody of Jinsuo from Princess Returning Pearl.
  • The title of Season 10 episode 23 is "奔跑吧超人兄弟", which can be translated as "Hurry Up, Superman Brothers". The name is a reference to the variety show Hurry Up Brother (奔跑吧兄弟).
  • In Season 10 episode 23, Smart S. throws a Pokeball at a monster in order to attack it, even saying "I choose you!"
  • In Season 10, Frightened M. (惊吓怪)briefly holds up a movie promotion poster depicting Careful S. as the lead role. The movie is called 道路笔记 (Daolubiji; The Roads Chronicle),a parody of a popular Chinese film and novel series 盗墓笔记 (Daomubiji; The Grave Robbers' Chronicles). In Chinese, their pronunciations are so similar that they're only off by one sound.
  • In Season 11, the episode where the heroes visually project what they're thinking, a signature scene from Your Name is parodied.
  • In Season 13 episode 1, Doctor H. teleports to an 8-bit environment featuring the Pac-Man ghosts.
  • In Season 14 episode 19, Careless S. snaps his fingers while wearing a golden gauntlet, causing Sweet S. to disappear from existence.
  • Season 16's premise involves the mermaid Ling Er being in danger of turning into sea foam. The idea of a mermaid turning into sea foam is lifted from The Little Mermaid, the original fairy tale, where it does happen to Ariel.
