- Episode 2's Couch Gag is one to Ultraman with the cast standing in front of the Science Patrol Base
- Episode 3's Couch Gag has Enma & Chappeuji as Batman, Kappaeru as Spider-Man and Yukiko-hime as Supergirl
- During the Be the Ball sequence in episode 3, the scene where Enma is throwing the girls as balls at Chiiko-sensei is a direct reference the opening of Attack No. 1
- The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters (1984) makes an appearance in episode 4.
- From the same episode, we also have Enmazinger, Kappaeru having his face resculpted to resemble Golgo 13, people turned into machines such as Mechagodzilla, Doublas M2, and Boss Borot, and various Devilman demons such as Mizun, Lacock, and the finally Harumi becomes the OVA version of Sirene.
- Prior to the opening of that same episode, the Couch Gag is a shout out to Ultraseven.
- In Episode 5's Couch Gag, Enma is dressed as Redman, Yukiko-hime is dressed as Jumborg Ace and Kappaeru is dressed as Mirrorman. note
- In that same episode, when a Harumi sees a swarm of bees, she immediately references Maya the Bee which was hugely popular among Japanese children thanks to its 70's anime adaptation by Nippon Animation.
- Also in the same episode when Harumi dons Enma's hat and staff after the eyecatch, she quotes the "Maharu Tamara Furanpa" incantation from Majokko Tickle.
- The period and setting of the series (lower Tokyo in the early 70's) are practically identical to those of Brigadoon: Marin and Melan, which is also by Yoshitomo Yonetani, and much of the scenery and locations are the same with the bathhouse in Episode 1 and the amusement park in Episode 2 as two notable examples.
- Kappaeru floats past the Monolith from 2001 in Episode Six.
- In Episode 6's Couch Gag, Enma is dressed as Spectreman and Yukiko-hime and Kappaeru are dressed as Dr. Gori and Karas from the same show.
- Episode 7's Couch Gag has Harumi, Kappaeru, Chappeuji, Enma Daioh, Enma, Yukiko-hime and Enpi dressed as Rainbowman's different forms
- Episode 8's Couch Gag is a recreation of the 60's Astro Boy opening with Enma as Astro, Yukiko-hime as Uran, Kappaeru as Ochanomizu and Chappeuji as Pluto.
- Episode 9's Couch Gag is a Shout-Out to Ambassador Magma (AKA Space Giants).
- Episode 10's Couch Gag is a recreation of the Thunderbirds intro
- Episode 10 references multiple Super Robot shows including Fire Goblin and Ice Goblin morphing into a robot that resembles Baron Ashura and ChoRyuJin, Enpi piloting a clone of Big Shooter, and three goblins based on food obviously forming (and completely failing at being) the Getter Team.
- Episode 12's Couch Gag is a recreation of the opening to Star of the Giants, specifically the original 1968 iteration.
- Many things in episode 12 including Wacky Races of all things note . Ryo from Demon Lord Dante can be seen among the extras. Ultraman is briefly referenced in Enma's fight with Plume as her bra has a secret mirror in it, much like Baltan Seijin 2. Angel Mark possesses the Thunder Break from Great Mazinger. Susa no Jou turns into the Dai-X when she's burned by Enma. Finally one can find Gyaos hidden among the many individuals briefly when the power of love is activated.
- In episode 12, we also get a nod to Yukiko-hime's They Call Me MISTER Tibbs! / Insistent Terminology moments from the 70's anime, though it's in a much more sweeter context.
