- The minor Ogre nation of Mire Mouth contains several references to Shrek, including a mission titled "Out of my Swamp" and an unlockable conquistador called "Mouth Smasher". It's starting ruler is also named Shrak
- The existence of the previous (and reformable) Kingdom of Castellyr can only be a reference to The Castle of Llyr.
- One of Malacnar's national ideas is titled "The Best of Them, Tougher than the Rest of Them", echoing the theme song of a certain echidna.
- One of Malacnar's missions rewards you with a conquistador named Ser Camovac 'the Mound's Python' upon its completion.
- Another mission reads "Cities of thousands of Ynnics used to adorn the landscape of the Epednan Expanse… now it's a lawless wildland".
- Ynnic Ruinborn ideas mention a certain Empress Zeldja who was rescued by a mute adventurer. Another Ynnic name is Saria.
- One of Bosancovac's ideas mentions the trade of lamp oil, ropes and bombs in exchange for Cannorian goods such as rubies. One of Stenurynn's ideas asks "isn't peace what all true warriors strive for?".
- A Centaur event offers you three elite generals named Tirek, Redmane Sparkle and Glitterhoof.
- Completing Marrhold's mission tree rewards you with the powerful "Griffon Empire" government reform.
- One of Vels Bacar's ideas is titled "The Bacaran Republic".
- One of Corintar's national ideas is "She Protects, but She Also Attacks."
- One of the legions that can be formed and recruited from Castanor's mission tree is called The Bridgeburners
- Before the goblin rework the Mountainshark tribe's unique missions were all Lord of the Rings references. Another goblin nation; Truedagger had a mission called "Top Ten Betrayals".
- Across many different Dwarven mission trees and national ideas are various shout-outs to Dwarf Fortress such as "All Craftdwarfship is of the highest quality" and various references to Dwarves becoming Mad-Struck and making new things, and of course, the frequency of the name Urist.
- The Dwarven Adventurer mission tree includes the missions "Diamonds, Rubies," "Gold and More," and "Hidden in the Mountain Store." The first of those contains another shout-out in its description, which describes gems as "truly outrageous."
- A demonsterization event involving state debts has two responses: "If we assume the debts, we get a new line of credit, a financial diuretic." and "This financial plan is an outrageous demand!"
- Gemradcurt's events and missions have titles such as "Due Vendetta", "The Will of One", "Here Comes The Arm" and "Light Up The Night".
- One possible resolution to the "Adventurers Wanted: Haunted House" event chain features an adventuring party using their cowardly hunter and his animal companion as bait to trap the "ghost". Once caught, the culprit angrily declares "I would've gotten away with it, if it weren't for you meddling adventurers!"
- If a wyvern builds it's nest in a country as part of the "Adventurers Wanted: Wandering Wyvern" chain, it's possible for adventurers to hunt it down and kill it using "a combination of great swords, guns, dual blades and even a strange transforming axe".
- Two of Mulén's missions are titled "Let's Get Down to Business" and "To Unseat the Suns". Another is titled "Mulén Rouge".
- Cestirmark has access to a unique Adventurer estate called the Special Cases Preventation Bureau.
