My Name is an action thriller Korean Drama created by Netflix that premiered on October 15, 2021.

Yoon Ji-woo (Han So-hee) vows revenge on her father's murderer. Desperate and alone, she seeks help from Dongcheon crime boss Choi Mu-jin (Park Hee-soon), one of her father's closest confidants and his best friend. Choi Mu-jin trains Ji-woo and teaches her through Tough Love how to fight hand-to-hand, how to survive, and encourages her to prove herself to the other gang members. After a dangerous confrontation with two other initiates, Mu-jin asks Ji-woo to take on a fake identity for her protection — and for her to infiltrate the police force as Dongcheon's mole.

Five years later, Ji-woo — under the name Oh Hye-jin — has been transferred to the Narcotics Department and directly onto the team overseeing the case against Dongcheon. There, Ji-woo meets her reluctant new partner, Sargeant Jeon Pil-do (Ahn Bo-hyun), and Chief Cha Gi-ho (Kim Sang-ho), both of whom have grudges against Choi Mu-jin and his drug empire. Ji-woo now has to face the challenge of juggling her roles as cop and mole all while treading an impending gang war between Choi Mu-jin and Do Gang-jae (Chang Ryul), a new drug dealer with an old grudge against Ji-woo.

My Name provides examples of:

  • Action Girl: Ji-woo. Downplayed, in that she knows she's not a match for most men when it comes to brute strength...so she goes for their weak spots instead.
  • An Arm and a Leg: Mu-jin's choice of punishment to those who disobey him: choose face, arm, or leg — he'll only disfigure one.
  • Attempted Rape: Gang-jae and another initiate try to drug and rape Ji-woo. She manages to get away by stabbing both of them, gravely injuring one in the process.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: The nurse who helps Ji-woo escape from the hospital in the finale was seen in the crack house where Ji-woo first meets Pil-do in the second episode.
  • The Dragon: Jung Tae-ju is Mu-jin's right hand man and personal assassin. Mu-jin sends him after Gi-ho and Ji-woo.
  • Et Tu, Brute?: Mu-jin considers Dong-hoon a close friend who once saved his life. It hurts him greatly when Mu-jin discovers Dong-hoon was always working undercover for the police, and that he now must kill him.
  • Fight Clubbing: One of Dongcheon's tests for their initiates is to put them all in a ring in a no holds barred fight to see who can be the last man standing.
  • Free-Range Children: Ji-woo is a teenager when her father drops off the face of the planet for a month, so capable to some extent of looking after herself, but nevertheless, he apparently made no provision for a responsible adult of any kind to look after her.
  • Hallway Fight: Used frequently to show off Ji-woo's skills as a One-Woman Army.
  • He Who Fights Monsters: Mu-jin asks Ji-woo if she's willing to get revenge regardless of the price she has to pay. He's really asking if she's willing to become cold-blooded, single-minded, and ruthless in order to kill someone. When she finally confronts him after he murders Pil-do, she decides that yes, she will accept the price of becoming a monster like Mu-jin to have her revenge.
  • I Have No Son!: When teenage Ji-woo's father finally calls after being incommunicado for weeks, she angrily tells him not to come back home and that she considers him dead. She takes it back the next time she sees him, but unfortunately, the next time she sees him is when he's being murdered.
  • I Was Beaten by a Girl: Gang-jae feels humiliated when Ji-woo knocks him out in the ring fight. So he tries to drug her and rape her in retaliation.
  • The Mole: Ji-woo's role in Narcotics is to feed information back to Mu-jin and Dongcheon.
  • Put the "Laughter" in "Slaughter": Gang-jae often laughs maniacally while stabbing and maiming others.
  • One-Woman Army: Ji-woo, after being trained by Mu-jin, can effectively take down multiple men twice her size.
  • The Reveal: Who is Yoon Dong-hoon's killer? Choi Mu-jin. Mu-jin kills Dong-hoon himself when he realizes Dong-hoon was The Mole for the police.
  • Revenge by Proxy: Mu-jin sees Ji-woo cooperating with the police as a betrayal. Instead of shooting her, he murders Pil-do to take away someone Ji-woo cares about.
  • Revenge Through Corruption: Mu-jin corrupts Ji-woo by manipulating her and pitting her against Cha Gi-ho and his team as retribution against the late Yoon Dong-hoon.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: After Mu-jin murders Pil-do in front of Ji-woo, she fights her way through Dongcheon's headquarters into Mu-jin's office and kills him to avenge her father and Pil-do.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: When Kang Su-Yeon realizes that Mu-jin and Dongcheon are done for, she leaves far away.
  • Sex Signals Death: After Ji-woo and Pil-do make love in the final episode, he is murdered by Mu-jin the following day.
  • Tattooed Crook: Dongcheon's members have a double-headed snake tattooed over their hearts. Ji-woo burns hers off when she learns Mu-jin killed her father and manipulated her.
  • Undercover Cop Reveal: How Ji-woo and Pil-do meet. Pursuing a lead for the Violent Crimes unit, Ji-woo accidentally reveals his identity as a cop when she busts a drug deal that was really a sting set up by Narcotics.
  • You Killed My Father: The premise of the show is Ji-woo investigating her father's murder to find his killer and seek revenge.
  • You Monster!: Ji-woo throws this at Mu-jin who admits it's true and asks if she can become a monster in order to have her revenge. Having lost her father and love interest as well as wasted her life because of Mu-jin, she decides that yes, she can.
