Valkyrian Mercs Quest is an imageboard-based roleplay originating from 4chan's /tg/ board. It's set in the world of Valkyria Chronicles with some elements of the Ace Combat setting blended in for flavor.

It has been some time since the small nation of Gallia repelled an invasion by the Imperial Alliance, but the Atlantic Federation is still at war. Jager Sturmfuhrer, a Gallian noble and veteran, has decided to do something about that. Together with second-in-command Samantha Wellings, he founds a small mercenary company called the Demons of Randgriz to take the fight to the empire.

However, Jager has a deeper motive than profit. Prior to the start of the war, he had been engaged to a lovely woman and childhood friend named Karla. Problem was, Karla was an Imperial princess, and when her king came calling, she chose duty over love and personally led an assault on Jager's house. Jager isn't sure whether he wants to save her or kill her, but to do either, he needs to find her.

Valkyrian Mercs Quest provides examples of:

• Action Prologue: The story begins with Jager remembering Karla's assault on his house.
• Adaptation Personality Change: A staple of Merc Command's quests is using existing characters as visual templates and changing their name and personality to create a unique character for the quest. Characters such as Chelsea from Akame ga Kill, Shiina from Angel Beats and Nyo!Prussia from Hetalia appear in this quest as Julia, Tarin and Karla, respectively. The sequel has, among others, Anastasia, Lucina and Raul Menendez.
