A New Day In Super City

It was a new day in Super City. The sun shined as brightly as ever, it's radiant sheen shimmering over the hovercars and centaurs racing down the freeway. A woman on jet skis zoomed past the spaceport, filled with passengers of all sorts coming to and fro as interspace relations continued to prosper. All sorts of strange and wonderful sights filled the city, ranging anywhere from a stray portal opening up on Mainstreet to a troll and a pixie enjoying tea at a literal kitty cafe.

But it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows. For every jetpack or teleportation pad, there was a mugger or crazed gunman lurking around the nearest corner. For every advance made in space travel or interspecies relations, there was some bastard waiting to muck it all up. And for every kitten saved or little Timmy dragged out of a well, there was a Jumping Jack or Mr.Pogo upending a city block with their giant toys and pogo sticks. And all of that was without the current state of heroes.

But no matter how one felt about them — whether they had begun to lose their way or were doing what needed to be done — the schools that birthed them shone brighter than ever. Standing tall, they welcomed all those wanting to be heroes and gave them the means to succeed, regardless of where they came from. It wasn't always easy, nor forgiving. But those who struggled through never regretted it for a moment.

But the crowning jewel was Saint Academy. Founded by none other than Saint himself, Saint Academy was the first of its kind, with its success leading to many other academies springing up all over the globe. But the original Academy, headed by the Saint himself, still stood tall in Supercity, waiting for all sorts of new heroes to enter its halls and make their mark.

And on no day was that more true than today. It was the first day of the new semester, and numerous young heroes and students filled it's white marble halls as they raced towards their classrooms. There was supposed to be a reception in the auditorium, complete with a grand speech, but it had been rescheduled at the last moment. Apparently, the Saint was unable to attend, but no-one was sure why. There were rumours his heart was acting up, but many such rumours had spread around since he retired back in 2010, and he was still kicking. Whatever the reason, it had been rescheduled for later in the day, but there was no telling if it would stick.

Instead, the students were asked to head to their classrooms first thing. Perhaps because of the surprise announcement, there was no teacher waiting for them in Classroom 1-A, though there was a large red staff sitting against the blackboard. Rows of desks lined the room, with a couple large open windows filling the room with sunlight. All waiting for the students to show and begin their adventures as this year's Class 1.

Assuming they survived the experience.

My Superhero Academy: Reassembled is a Play-by-Post game started on TV Tropes in February 2021 by Kkhohoho and relaunched in February 2022 by Nick The Swing as part of a revival effort titled Days of Myth. It is a Superhero / Cape Punk story starring the colorful students of Saint Academy. The school is open to all who want to better control their powers or learn how to be a hero.

Tropes

  • Alternate Self: The only student thus far that we've seen before in previous installments is Iona Bassano. Notably, this Iona wasn't ostracized by her family and is thus more well-adjusted, at the cost of not having her own version of Bellpepper accompanying her.
  • Canon Foreigner: Unsurprising, given it's an RP, but Reassembled deserves special mention for being the first RP in which all of the studentsnote  are completely new to the series.
    • Isaac Noble, usually a The Good The Bad and The Spandex character, is present during v3 Days of Myth, with Noble Tech creating a combination charger / wifi hotspot and sponsoring hero groups.
  • Corrupt Corporate Executive: What nearly everyone except devil's advocate Charlotte assumes Isaac Noble to be - due to him being the third richest man in the world, interested in sponsoring heroes, and the reputation of billionaires. It's assumed he's doing so purely to advance his own interests or for the sake of good PR.
  • Pompous Political Pundit: Gideon Lindey, apparently a new guy on the barely disguised Fox News equivalent, is a new talk show guy, giving his opinions on news - first off, his spin on an incident that happened with the new "Church of Sins" villains and the Anti-Hero Green Falcon.
  • Superhero School: Saint Academy, as per usual.
  • Wham Episode: Page 6 and 7 of Days of Myth. The strange earthquakes lead up to a gargantuan meteor strike on Saint Academy that badly damages the school - with mainstays of the franchise like Nurse Hello and Armada badly wounded and in unknown condition respectively, with the nearby Apartment District devastated entirely, with everyone more or less incinerated on impact.

Character Sheets

Students

     Lambert Rudyard Lake
Played by: blueace

A self-styled knight with a few secrets of his own, with the power of creating magical swords and using magic to increase his own physical ability.

  • The Blacksmith: His Forged weapons were first physically made and enchanted by him.
  • Cool Sword: Beyond being able to create them, he carries two blades, Gloir and Deuil, which have their own magical energy shining pure blue and a dangerous red. They are both halves of a sword of a legendary knight, changed by time.
  • Knight in Shining Armor: Tries to be. Ironically, he lacks the armor, so he brings a blue cloak in the meantime.
  • Magical Enhancement: His magic is based around increasing his own physical ability, to be faster, stronger and even sharpen his senses.
  • Meaningful Name: 'Lambert' is derived from Germanic elements of land and bright, Rudyard is old English for red yard, symbolizing the sacred and corrupted power of both his blades. His surname Lake is a reference to the original owner of his swords, Sir Lancelot Du Lac (Of the Lake).
  • Spontaneous Weapon Creation: The basis of his magic. His spell Forge lets him call upon any of his creations.

     Izzy "Dizzy" Emerson

A 15-year-old girl from San Diego with a distinctly lanky appearance and a surfer's chilled-out attitude, Izzy is known for her characteristic disorientation and friendly demeanour, having a tendency to daydream in her own quiet way and often feeling as constantly dizzy as her nickname suggests. Though she's in fact more in-tune and intelligent than she lets on, Izzy feels like she'd rather fly over her issues like a bird than face the pain of dealing with them directly—and thanks to her gravity-shifting abilities, she can achieve just that.

  • Gravity Master: Can manipulate her own gravity (and sometimes one other person) to send herself flying through the air. She can use this ability to effectively run across walls and stand upside-down on ceilings, in addition.
     Zachaia "Kaia" Elmsdotter
Played by: NickTheSwing
     Rosabella Linden
Played by: LilyTheLitten

  • Fish out of Temporal Water: She was born in 1956. She's 16. The RP is set in 2020. You do the math.
  • I Know What You Fear: Mara's powers revolve around manifesting what either her enemies or people in general are afraid of.
  • Bad Powers, Good People: Despite the nature of her powers, she's very compassionate and holds both herself and others to high moral standards.

Teachers and Other Heroes

     Protectors East

Guardian II / Blake Dennis Camden

A hotheaded, rather egotistical and eager young hero, barely out of Saint Academy himself and a member of the Protectors' B Team, Protectors East. He's proud of the heroic legacy he is the latest iteration of.

  • Heroic Build: Attributed to training and the "Guardian Procedure" - Blake is a huge, muscular young man.
  • Preppy Name: Blake Dennis Camden II - indeed, he's more or less a New England preppy if his legacy was superheroics rather than business. It's still made implicitly clear that Blake has lived a remarkably privileged life.
  • The Proud Elite: Blake is very proud indeed of his status as a "legacy man".

Remix / Luis Garcia

A sound manipulating hero who represents a more cool-headed front as opposed to Blake being the hot-headed one. Remix wants to be a hero to represent his community in the big leagues.

  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: One of two Blue to Blake's Red.
  • Totally Radical: Downplayed, in comparison to who inspired him. Remix still dressed in a way that could best be described as "the 90s made a comeback".

Kid Faust / Caleb Cain

A magic using young hero, Caleb implicitly makes use of various dark sorts of magic. He's relaxed, positive, and not keen on conflict, which contrasts a bit with his public presentation.

  • Perky Goth: Caleb's personal stylings are dark, with a ruby inlaid skull medallion around his neck, and he wears tight leather armor and a cloak and cowl. He's actually perfectly nice and very chill.
  • Pretty Boy: Looks according to the description rather like a boy band member.

Villains

     The God of Sin

Mortellus

A non-tulpa divinity from another universe, Mortellus took interest in the Earth of this dimension and its superheroes, who stand as a rebuke of the selfishness Mortellus stands for. Deciding this cannot stand, Mortellus launched Operation Mortification. Thus far, he has only been picked up on by Charlotte.

  • God of Evil: His portfolio consists of such cheery subject matter as tyranny, crime, sin and selfishness.

     The Fire Giant

Inferno

The envoy of Mortellus, and a self admitted fallen angel sent by his master in advance of Operation Mortification. Created to be destructive and induce chaos, this fiery giant was defeated but ultimately teleported away by his master in case he was needed again.
