another piece of candy is a non-canon crossover comic strip series written and illustrated by NomNomNami and starring several fan-favorite characters from her games and visual novels, including Lonely Wolf Treat, Syrup and the Ultimate Sweet, First Kiss at a Spooky Soiree, Contract Demon, and her tears were my light. The comic updates every Wednesday, and is hosted on ComicFury, but was at first hosted on Smack Jeeves.
The comic does not have any overarching story, though there are a few short story arcs that can stretch across multiple strips, larger arcs uploading daily over the course of a full week. The comic normally consists of short segments of the characters interacting or answering readers’ questions in the style of a Tumblr Character Blog, but occasionally, it will provide backstory or lore for the characters.
The comic can be read on its home page here
Tropes in another piece of candy:
- Art Shift: The comic sometimes has guest artists illustrate new strips in their art style.
- Cluster Bleep-Bomb: Upon meeting Periwinkle, Eleni asks if he's into demons, to which Periwinkle agrees and tells her about an occasion where he dated a succubus, the conversation delving into something presumably very inappropriate, with Censor Boxes blocking every word. Somehow, Pastille seems to be using his magic to do this.
- Fanservice: The "3, 2, 1, APPEAL!" comics almost always consist of a character making a suggestive or cute pose in front of someone else, attempting to woo a love interest, or of course, please their fans.
- Fourth-Wall Mail Slot: This comic acts as one when it isn't just slice-of-life scenarios of characters interacting.
- Frame Break: Downplayed. In multiple comics, Spice's ability to travel between parallel worlds is portrayed as leaving the boundary of the frame.
- Girls Love Stuffed Animals: While Spice already has a doll version of Nil, This comic introduces stuffed animals belonging to Eleni, Pastille, and Kamilla, named Fluwupsy, Priscilla, and Ulgarok. Inverted for Pastille, who, while presenting as very feminine, is male. Exaggerated for Spice.
- Let's Meet the Meat: Normally Played for Comedy, most notably when Gumdrop goes to her first day of kindergarten and a horde of children immediately start trying to eat her.
- Living Toys: According to Nil's Story, The doll representing her in the comic may or may not be alive and aware.
- Running Gag: First caused by a dream of Eleni pulling Kamilla's horns off, the joke later returns with Syrup and Gumdrop and Kamilla and Thyme.
